I doubt that the chairman of the Federal Reservve would be making an "I Don't Give a Damn" fashion statement. It was once popular to wear Swatches, Casios and the like with a suit, but that was big in the 1980's.

It's not because they prefer cheaper watches, it's because of their public visibility. Wearing an expensive watch in a soft economy giving the realm they work in would not be taken well by their critics. What U.S. public figures wear are usually very carefully crafted by their PR.

Watch what these guys wear when they leave office.
