Ok, the rules are simple, you win a TV game and get $30K to buy 3 watches at MSRP, but those three watches are the only watches you'll wear for the rest of your life, you can't resell, you can't exchange. You break the rules, you loose the watches.

The first one is a quartz that you have to wear every day except on weekends
The second is a mechanical sport watch that you can only wear on weekends
The third is a dress on strap watch that you can only wear on special occasions (dining out, parties, etc...)

No two can be from the same brand, and whatever you choose will be provided new from an AD

My choices:

Breitling Endurance Pro $3K

15545008

Rolex Submariner 126610LV $10K

15545013

Vacheron Constantin Quai de l'Ile self-winding $15.5K

15545025

That's a total of $28.5K, tough luck, the remaining $1.5K are lost 😉

I really love the Journe quartz, it's possibly my favorite watch he makes, but that price tag...

Weekday quartz:
GS SBGV245 - $3K
15545216
(stolen from Hodinkee)

Weekend mechanical:
114060 - $7.5K (just playing by the MSRP rules)
15545236
(stolen from A Blog to Watch)

Outside of the rules, I'd choose another GS as a dress watch, but within the game's parameters:
Nomos Lambda 953 - $17K
15545259

Total: $27.5K, leaving me some room for what the 114060 would actually cost.

I'll play.
1) Breitling Aerospace EVO. $4375. I would have chosen the Omega Skywalker however it would have looked "funky" after the novelty wore off methinks.

2) Rolex 126710BLRO $9700. Absolutely love this watch. MK3 bezel of course (if there is such a thing?)
15545296

3) JLC Master Control Calendar $11,000. I think white dials for dress look classy. Blue would also be a great choice.

The money left over will cover the taxes and beer.

Every day quartz: Grand Seiko Sport 200m Diver spring-drive 7k
Image

Weekend sports: Rolex Pepsi GMT - 10k

Occasional Dress up - Green Dial Pam736 10k (I know its a sports watch but it would be dressy on me)

And 10% - 3k to charity

Im ok with quartz as long as it does more than just tell time, take advantage of the technology. Fun game...

Quartz all week watch easy choice - Breitling Aerospace Evo $4379.00
15545339

Weekender only sports watch - a little tougher choice -H Moser Pioneer $13,900 (Almost went with the TT black dial Sub for $14,300)

A dress watch I will hardly wear...GO Panomatic Lunar $9900
15545381

Grand total of $28,179.00 but could I really be done...I might make a last minute substitution.

An alternative dress watch, but not really..Rolex DJ white/silver dial $8050 Probably cheating as this ain't really a proper dress watch.

Following this theme - but adhering more to the title ("what would you buy for $30k") then a strict reading of the OP's rules - I would buy several watches (which are actually already in my collection):

The Longines Hydroconquest can be purchased in automatic or quartz versions. Mine is quartz, and frankly, I'm the only person who knows that.

Then I'd get the green Oris Aquis, one of my favorite watches at any price point.

Then for a dress watch, the Baume & Mercier Capeland Chrono. I think this would be considered a dress watch.

If I bought all three gently used (like I actually did), I would be out of pocket about $2,500, and the remaining $27,500 would fund the used Audi A5 Sportback I am currently getting ready to buy. Those three watches, plus the Audi, would make me happier than any three watches collectively costing $30K. But to each, his own. Pictures below.
