I have small 6.5" wrists and actually really like the size of the smaller format 1501 watches - but just wondered if anyone had bought and loved them or ended up regretting it? I could opt for a 1601 instead...

I used to have this air king. It was one of the best looking dials I had seen on any rolex.

But I ended up selling it because it felt too dainty on my 6.75 in wrist.
However, at that time, big watches were all the rage and my other watches were Panerai and Breitling, both >44mm.
Now I am perfectly fine with smaller watches (actually prefer it) and wish I had never sold it.

Yeah, love the dial

I would try on a 34mm and wear it for a few minutes. Sometimes I’ll take off my Speedy Pro and put on a 33mm vintage Seamaster…it takes about 5 minutes for your eyes to adjust, but then it looks “right.”

I’d also look in a full length mirror with the watch on your wrist. I think you might find that 34-36mm looks a lot more natural on the wrist than larger case sizes.

Ignore the naysayers. Nobody outside of this forum board gives a hoot, or would give it a second thought.

Too big watched do get second looks and some reactions.

Anyway, I wear a 32mm bubbleback and a 34mm OP on rivet bracelet. My wrist is 6.5" round.

I tried to try this One(it's a 34mm and my wrist is 6.6in) but the bracelet was sized for a women, so i could not fit it in my hand 😅

I have a 7.5" wrist and regularly wear two vintage pieces that are 33 and 34 respectively. I think they look great on the wrist -- really elegant and unobtrusive -- and they wear like a dream.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a vintage 34 Rolex. If I find the right one, I'll probably do it.

For comparison, my biggest watch is a 43 and while I love the watch, it's far less comfortable than my 33/34.

Given the above, I say go for it. With higher end vintage pieces (e.g., Rolex, JLC) there is a certain "presence" to the watch that allows for going smaller.

Considering your wrist size, I'd suggest trying both the 34 and 36mm versions if possible.

You don't even have to try the actual model. If you can find a cheap Casio or Seiko that looks similar and has the same size, you can always try that on to get a general idea of the best size.

I have a 7.25" wrist and wear between a 29mm vintage square and a 45mm breitling. 34 will not be too small for you or look out of place imo but only you can really be the judge. As noted, 34mm options will be much cheaper and i love some of the dial options, especially the blue arabic dial preciously posted.
