Hey, good folk of the Affordables Forum,

Does anybody know if replacement rubber gaskets are available for the 1990s Timex Indiglo Ironman Triathlon watches? I found mine in a box where it had languished for probably a decade or more with a dead battery, and one CR2016 later it works perfectly again. The only issue is that the rubber water seal for the caseback has deteriorated and stretched and I don't feel confident that it is sealing properly. Now, it may be that the button seals aren't reliable either after so many years, but when I changed the battery I took out the module and gave the whole case a good wash, and it seemed that the button seals still kept water out.

I've been Googling to no avail. If it helps, my watch says "731-A" on the back and "B0 Phillippines" along with the letter T in a box.

The watch is pretty beat up, but it reminds me of my younger days and makes me happy. If replacement seals were really expensive I would just keep wearing it in dry conditions, but I want to do right by it if I can.

Thanks!
Dana

Caseback gastkets are typically sold by size, rather than being meant for one particular watch. If you still have the gasket, you could see if you could get a rough measurement of it's diameter and thickness, then search online for that size.

Thanks, Slarnos! That makes good sense. I've been spending time in the G-Shock forum and was thinking about those gaskets which are specially shaped for different models. If I remember right, the Ironman one was nice and round. I'll open it up again one day soon and see if I can get some measurements (and pics).
