I'd either buy a 19 or squeeze a 20 in there. Both are far more readily available than 19.5.

 

20 mm tropic will fit and are available new now.

 

What they said. You might need to try a few spring bars to get a good fit, but most rubber straps you should be able to cram in there without a problem.

 

20mm will give you LOTS more options and you are only talking about 1/2mm.

 

Use a cool period correct or styled 20mm rubber strap. I have a Seiko with19mm lugs and 20mm works fine.

 

If this model is your Galco diver, then use a 20mm strap.

I've got plenty of rubber straps and haven't seen one yet with the kind of tolerance that would prevent a 20mm from fitting. Most straps are slightly smaller than the stated dimension since that makes them easier to install. If you're really worried, get one with quick release spring bars. The spring will take up the 0.4mm slack without a problem, and installing with a quick release will be easier than fitting both the band and a separate spring bar tool between the lugs.

Take and warm up a 20 mm. In some hot water? I would think this should soften the rubber or silicone strap enough? Vance.

Hope you can get something to work for you. I have Two watches with a 19mm. strap. Maybe a rubber strap from Uncle Seiko? The Captain Willard 6105 takes a 19mm. Vance.

 

I can find a 19.5mm at Tag but it's almost 200.

Here my 20mm tropic strap on a 19mm lug width watch.

No, it fits. It's 250 microns of "squeeze" either side. That's less than the width of four human hairs. You can do it!

Yes to be clear, although +/‐ 1mm difference straps usually fit, sometimes +/- 1mm springbars do not. In that situation, put the correct size springbar in the +/- 1mm strap.

 

Removing the quick release spring bars and using regular spring bars did the trick.

I'm joining the choir here. You've got a springbar problem. It's super easy to put 20 mm bands on watches with 19 mm lug width; 19.5 can't possibly be a problem.
