Seeing how much the Seiko SARB series(SARB017, SARB033, SARB035, and SBDX017) have risen in price since they got released/discontinued is quite incredible.

What do you think is the next Seiko watch to be worth more in the future from its current price?

No one has a crystal ball. But IMO:

SNK809 is $200 bucks on Amazon. Crazy these were going for under $50 just a few years ago.

SSK GMT's when discontinued might take the same fate as the SKX divers.

It is hard to say which Seiko models will rise in price over the years.

My guess is some of the limited edition colors will go up in price as they become less available, for example the SPB297 STO '65 Diver.

My SLA017 seems to have gone up in value since I purchased it, but I certainly wouldn't consider it an "investment piece".

Well prices on Giugiaro re issues will continue to rise when no more NOS is around. Same thing with other discontinued models: The SNA411 et al are already rising. The mini turtles (especially limited editions), if people ever catch on to them for being the well sized SKX successor they are.

Hopefully the recent srpj43 grey and teal time sonar will continue to plummet from the flippers asking 1100-2k. They are comming down and when retail price comes back, I'm buying one. Then the price can go back up.

I have been watching them for a while, hoping to catch one for under $100. Jomashop ran them for around $70 a couple of times. Overall, though, you're right.

Would be nice to have a bunch of SKX007’s right now. I saw one for $976.00! That’s investment. Crystal watch ball needed. Lol
My wife bought me an SKX009 in 2020 for $325. I persuaded her to return it because the money was really needed elsewhere at the time. Nowadays you're lucky if you can get one used for that price.

It’s a little tangential to the topic but I think the old SARDs with retrograde—especially triple-retrograde—complications will really come down now that Seiko’s reintroduced multi-retrograde models again. I saw people asking $1100 for SARD009s in 2022, with other related (and more ornate) models going for more. Who knows if they got $1100, and I’m sure the market’s cooled somewhat, but Seiko was smart to reintroduce them given their hotness on the used market.
