Hello fellow Tag aficionados,

Had a quick query to ask of you - the husband and I purchased a Tag Carrera automatic for me yesterday (WAR2413.BA0770) - a simple, elegant classic piece, I think, but am now unsure if I made the right decision and if I should perhaps look at another - one from the Link line (WAT1410.BA0954). Any suggestions? This is my first Tag so I am anxious to know if there is a preference / hierarchy in the various Tag lines. Also, if I decide to stay with the automatic Carrera, should I be purchasing a watch winder? Any suggestions on brands and where to purchase them from in Sydney? Appreciate the help!

The Carrera is the nicer watch in my personal opinion. As you say, a bit more elegant and classy. I can see it being appropriate and tasteful in more situations than the Link. The Carrera line also has more history from the brand and is positioned above the Link in the TAG Heuer hierarchy.

If you're going to use an automatic watch daily, then you don't need a watch winder. Even then, the only benefit would be to save you having to reset the time if you leave it for a couple of days. But let's be honest, automatic watches will need re-setting from time to time anyway if you value any kind of accuracy, and it only takes a jiffy. But if any of that sounds like too much hassle and you really just want grab and go convenience, get a quartz instead.

Agree with imagwai. I had the Carrera for over two years and really liked it. If it is worn regularly, it should work fine for a long time.
