My vote is for the 6309 as well. I am a sucker for Seiko divers, and while I love me a chronograph, those choices are just a bit busy for my taste.

6309 is a classic and a great option for any activity. Otherwise I would take the solar chrono.

I say the 6309 was a good choice. Keeping it simple is the way to go and you can't go wrong with the classic look.

6309 is great looking. Although I'd rather have a modern equivalent like an SKX173. Biggest reason is the lume. And unless you just got it serviced, the WR on a watch that old can't be trusted.

I like the solar chronographs. The examples I have on my list are the pilot slide rule models like your second choice, but with the solar alarm movement.

SSC007 (picture below) or SSC145 (black DLC coated)
