It looks like one of those dive watches with a special crystal. I have seen an article in "ArmbandUhren" some years ago on them with specimens by Nivada and others. The crystal has a thin tunnel going round the outside which fills underwater as the pressure pushes water inside. This makes the filled part more translucent and the scale is highlighted, thus showing the depth the diver is currently at.
