Why do I love my Breitling so much?

This may sound crazy, but every time I wear my Breitling I feel like it could be the only watch I will ever need in my life.

This post will be a shameless apology of my Superocean 48 boutique edition.

It is simple, has a fairly basic movement, but it just looks so right. It feels like I can do anything with it, and I do. I don’t feel like I am a pretentious rich person when I wear it, I feel like it matches my personality and lifestyle, nobody notices it, and it keeps ticking regardless of what I put it through. From a bath with the kids to cliff diving, in the middle of a long distance triathlon or in a board room, the legibility is outstanding, the green dial is beautifully understated, it works with a variety of straps, and I feel complete. Also, did I mention it looks awesome?
I know it doesn't make any rationale sense, I have much more expensive watches, more prestigious movements, more rare pieces, but it just hits different.

I was showing off my watch to ChatGPT and had to ask it to roast it harder as it was too nice to it (pictures below).

Have you ever felt that your Breitling was a perfect watch for you? What’s your go-to Breitling that will make you happy regardless of what you’re doing?

All the best,
A.

All us sketchy guys with our Breitling’s.

I think my next one needs to be on a bracelet, should go opposite of my black subdued titanium I got now. May be a bright stainless three handler Avenger, but if I come across a used Avenger Blackbird for the right price I just may go black titanium again.

Really lovely watch OP, and glad to see you enjoying it so much. Positivity is infectious.

Will be interesting to see how you feel after 6-12 months, the true litmus test. Unless you tell me that you've owned it for X years - in which case, it's true love.

I feel the same way about my fairly recent acquisition, a Chopard. Still waiting for the infatuation to subside...

Nice Chopard!
I've had my Breitling for 2 years and 1 month now, and many watches in between, so I think my opinion will not change quickly. But I do feel almost similarly with other watches sometimes if I wear them for more than a few days in a row.

View attachment 18552376 i don't mind the lack of B's or silver wings. Or even the tail on the subdials. It's a nice clean look without the cookie cutter movement. Thought I would hate the day location. But it works.

Although, I do think the omaga movement is much prettier to peek through the back.

Love my new to me daily driver.
That's a very handsome watch.

Wear it well.

You don't have to ask ChatGPT to "roast" your watch, you can just ask it to judge it objectively. It's usually mostly praise if you do so with a good looking Breitling like yours! I asked it to roast mine because I'm a bit of a masochist (being a watch collector I guess it's a normal trait).
