It's officially sold only in Europe so anyone selling it in the US has to import it.

 

Also a few Casio collectors on YouTube hyped it up a bit and there are some unsubstantiated rumors it's been discontinued.

 

It obviously never caught on because not many people liked it. Trust the marketplace.

 

Would have one in the collection, but alas I am not willing to pay 3x to import it in the US. Seems like a substantial upgrade to the F-91... very curious why Casio never decided to sell it outside of the EU/UK

 

Casio's biggest customers are it's retailers. In the US, I believe that's Walmart and Amazon. Their purchasing departments probably decided the F-105 was a big enough seller, or perhaps the margins are higher on those. You don't see W-59s very often, either.

 

Thanks for the info folks! EU/UK Domestic Market only. No wonder it's 3X the price here across the pond. Well the reason I suddenly got interested is because I recently re-watched Shaun of the Dead. Found out Nick Frost's character (Ed) wore a W-86. Thought it would be cool to have one myself. Heck I'll probably still get one, import fees be damned. "C*ck it!"

 

Similar situation with the Casio duro dive watch, cheap in the USA but unavailable in the UK except via US sellers on Amazon, also more expensive.
