I am replacing the movement on my Wenger field watch. It uses a Ronda 515 with the date at 3 O' Clock.

I got it back together fine except for the second hand wouldn't go in right. I would manually advance the hands but the second hand would move with minute and and pop out and trying again the seconds hand popped out and went flying and I could not find it.

Looking at the failed stock movement it appears the part the second hand fits into is taller.

I ordered a Harley Ronda HQ515 from Esslinger and everything seems identical to the old movement except for the seconds hand not fitting.

Did I order the wrong movement? Is there different versions?

The original Ronda movt probably has a tall second hands wheel.
you will needs to find a watchsmith to swap the second hands wheels.
