reasons why or why not

If the price is right and the condition is what you’re comfortable with, I see why not. Though I’m pretty sure it will not come with manufacturers warranty. So you will be out the full set without the warranty card, but if you’re looking to keep it and not flip, it’s worthwhile.

I took a chance and bought an Omega AT from there, I’ll post up a thread once received and inspected!

A few years ago I bought a Victorinox diver from Jomashop. In the end, they sent a perfect watch that has performed very well. However, when I ordered I didn't realize that the watch wasn't in stock, so I had quite a wait--more than a month, as I recall--which I wasn't ready for. So I would make sure that the watch you want is ready to ship, unless you're OK with what could be a long delay. Another consideration is cost: the Victorinox was sub-$1000. I might have had a hard time pulling the trigger with Joma if it were way more expensive, as I suspect the Rolex will be.

I have purchased many watches from Jomashop, including an Omega SMP300, so I have no issue with them per se. But if I imagine myself in a position where I'm willing to pay current gray market prices, then money is not the issue. I would prefer an in person transaction. Or possibly buying from an established seller here on WUS with a reputation to protect.

There are just too many really good fakes out there.

Either buy from an AD or a really trusted seller. But if from a trusted seller, I’ll still send it to the RSC for authentication.

I wouldn't buy a Rolex from anyone.

I voted no having less to do with Joma & more to do with Rolex. I can’t image the market for Rolex changing in my lifetime to the point where I’d spend grey market $ on one. I should also add I’m very happy with the Omega PO I purchased new from Joma several years ago. The transaction was expeditious & the watch was as advertised - brand new/unworn/flawless.

Oh please...They are as good of a gray market seller as there is. If you are comfortable going gray market, there you go.

I bought my SMP from a AD for like $250 more than the advertised Joma price...because; AD, yay!...and because I wanted to wear it that day. But I was fully prepared to go Joma until the AD got the price in my comfort zone...

Rolex? How bad do you want it? AD's are happy to make you wait. It's not like Joma is on the corner with an arm full of watches...

I guess things have changed a lot with Jomashop. Five years ago, when I last used them, I would say yes if there was a good enough discount (there was a time when Rolexes were discounted). Apparently they've had more problems since.

That said, having a signed warranty has value, so you would have to weigh that with a grey market discount. I've never considered any Rolex worth more than MSRP, so given grey market prices from what I hear (I didn't go check), I'd say no.

So is it a Rolex problem or a gray market problem? Dude, the gray market is 'the market'. If I buy at an AD (yay!) for MSRP, I will damn sure value my watch at the prevailing gray market prices. If I have a warranty card, 'maybe' that adds $$, but maybe not...

"Devalues"...lol, if thats your thinking and you are looking to buy a Rolex, and you hesitate, be prepared to get run over with people who will buy...Now please enamor us with, "when I bought my Rolex's..." :)

I'm fine with grey market but Jomashop is an emphatic no. Two reasons:

1. With most/many greys, if there's a factory warranty on a Rolex - you get it. I'm pretty sure that Jomashop ask you rely on their warranty and I've been left with a very negative view on their in-house warranty/repair system
2. Even with a brand new unworn Rolex, you don't get the whole bracelet. They remove links to downsize it to average wrist size and then they charge you to buy the extra links back. Yep, they pillage the watch for spares before sending it out in some twisted little scheme to make a few bucks. It's not as if they lower prices to suit.

If that's the sales model and philosophy, it's not for me.

I like Jomashop. I've bought from them a good amount. I bought a Speedy Pro from them for about $3k a few years ago and the watch was perfect. I haven't bought anything more expensive than that though.

I probably wouldn't buy a Rolex from them. Rolex has such tight control over their product that I would worry about a Jomashop Rolex. I'd buy other brands from them though like JLC, Breitling, Omega, etc.
