Enjoying lunch (budae jjigae / military stew). The dish originates from the Korean war. Food was very scarce so locals used left over/thrown away/surplus food items from US bases to create this stew. It contains ham, spam and baked beans...which didn't exist in Korea before the war, and only available at US bases. In addition to the above items, it also has kimchi, tofu, and ramen noodles...a blend of western and Korean ingredients born out of need.

History and food... I like it!!

Speedy Saturday. I thought it was going to be hassle to keep it wound, but I've come to enjoy that ritual every morning, even if I don't wear it. I know I'll never have to perfectly time a thruster burn in space, but it's nice to have that option, just in case. View attachment 16630672
