Gentleman Jim knows his watches.
I have wondered who "Carlson" was and what his job was. 😎 👍
Here is what I originally thought.
I saw Carlson on ebay, thought " OH WOW, a military pilot's watch. The watch stays with the pilot, some special Air Wing of the US Navy ,Marines or Air Force. So I bid in it ,quite a few bidders. I asked the seller about who CARLSON was she didn't know anything, " I'm just an old woman selling the watch".
I had to be all over this bidding to win it, it cost me..
I had it serviced , runs great.
I posted it here, happy with my Glycine Airman Special, which has a few less jewels than a regular Airman. Something to do with the Swiss and tarriffs, taxes, etc.,
One of the guys who saw my post replied about it. He broke the news to me...it is not a pilots watch. CARLSON was the name of a watch distributor company. HUH?! He sent me a couple photos of examples of this. He said it is worth a bit more having this company name on the dial. I was bummed nonetheless.
Since it is my watch, I can make up any story I want to about who CARLSON was.
I have yet to do write up CARLSON's history..it'll be good.
1967 Glycine Airman Special.
If anyone has any info on this dial print, please let me know. Thanks ,Jim OL' ZJ
