They are nearly bulletproof! I got mine in 1987 and wore it daily for almost 20 years when I started collecting additional Breitlings. And that daily use included working on cars and airplanes with very little visible wear. I handed it down to my son when he turned 21 and he wears it daily now.Still running after 26 years...

That's a 36-year-old Aerospace on his wrist!
The first edition of the Aerospace did not have a backlight. After passing mine on to my son, I missed having a lightweight and tough watch that I didn't have to worry about. Last year, I purchased a used Aerospace Avantage. It does have a backlight, but like yours, is not very bright. To be honest, I don't really use the backlight that much.Nice! And good photo.
Question: does the Aerospace have lighting for the display? You probably saw my thread about the lighting on mine. Good to know that, with the possible exception of the lighting, the watch will easily outlive me.
I never did either. If the repair estimate comes back too expensive, as long as I don't have to worry about the bad lighting causing other problems, I'll probably just do without. The first edition of the Aerospace did not have a backlight. Keep us informed on what you find out.I never did either. If the repair estimate comes back too expensive, as long as I don't have to worry about the bad lighting causing other problems, I'll probably just do without.
But I'd like it to work, if I can get it fixed without an exorbitant cost.
