One of the sites I was shopping on said that the manufacturer has discontinued the X6M Black. Does anyone have any intel on this?

I also had a few questions maybe someone could help me out with that I am not clear on.

1. does the reminder count down or count up until the alarm goes off?
2. does the display go negative and positive?
3. since it doesn't have a trend indicator, could you see the current time while in the graph mode?
4. does the X6M Black have the clinometer, I have read only the older X6's have it?

Still trying to decide on observer or X6M. Like the features of the X6M like storm alarm, reminder alarm, date alarm, the compass, and trend indicator in particular. But I hear the observer is tougher, and I think it looks better. But given the prices they are about the same and its hard to give up the features. I would be using it for elk and deer hunting in the mountains, as well as I am in the military, which I read in Mystro's post he recommends the oberserver for military. Would be great if Suunto would add sunlight sunset to the observer as well as a timer. If it had the last to things, no question that is what I would buy. Too bad the core is just not a stronger watch!

I PM your questions. I bought my ABC for hunting. I am a hardcore bowhunter and the Observer fits much better under my hunting cloths. I also needed a convetional strap to adjust for different climates. The Observer IMO is a better hunting explorer watch. The X6M is a better weather / training watch.

Thanks again. I am bow hunter myself. I use a Matthews solocam. Use it every year elk hunting. I saw some of your posts about knives. Kershaw ken onions are two of my knives that I am never without, both S30V stainless.

Just curious, why do you think the X6M is better for weather?

It has better baro graphs than the Observer and also has a storm warning. I find the baro trend arrow indicator on the Observer to be enough of a warning for me. Its also on the main time display where it needs to be.
