I sold both my Rolexes a few years ago, and am rebuilding a few additions to my collection.

My watches have been changed fundamentally, as I move to easier to wear models across the range.

These are the Roxes I think make nice daily wearers. Note that although I have a smallish 6.7" wrist, i am not a fan of small dials, so as long as the lug to lug is within my wrist distance I am happier with the bigger dials (just personal taste).

Note that I want a date. I have also excluded ones that are simply too big (e.g. sea dweller)
What do you guys think ?

For me,as much as I love my GMT, and I hope to buy a Sub later this year.
My most comfortable watch and easily my most usable and the one I can see myself still wearing on a regular basis well into my 70s has to be my OP41. Works well as a casual and looks good dressed up. Has that old school elegant look and feel.
I'm surprised how much I like it.
No date. Just set the time and off you go.
It's also super legible. Something that I have noticed since I've had to wear glasses !

For comfort and size, the DJ or OP hits the spot but I wouldnt wear any Rolex as a "daily" watch. I guess it depends where you work and live but I find my DJ gets spotted almost every time I wear it. Havent had any problem but im conscious of people double taking and I find my self thinking about what im going to wear with them if im going somewhere ie long sleeves etc. Last summer I jumped on a bus with my DJ and the bus driver said "wow, thats a lovely watch, whats that". The bus was fairly busy and half the ground floor of the bus leaned into the middle to see if they could spot it which felt a tad awkward and I felt like I was on a cat walk as I walked down the aisle to find a seat. Good job I found one as I would have had to try the cat walk model turn and mince back down the bus. To make matters worse, when I sat down, the sun hit the bezel and gave a mirrorball effect on the roof of the bus. To the point where someone on the other side of the bus was looking around to see where it was coming from. It was actually quite funny as I spent the rest of the journey with the watch dial down on my leg.

I love Rolex but nearly all of them are easy to identify from the other side of the room by almost anyone. Im fine with someone coming up to me and talking about my watch if its a more obscure watch as I know theyre most likely WIS but with a Rolex theres a good chance its the only brand they know and you have to brace yourself for "is that real" or "how much was that". For a daily wearer Tudor or Omega have some great options. I know thats not what you asked but thats just my take on a Rolex as a daily. If it has to be Rolex, Exp 1, OP or a non fluted DJ on oyster.

Some 40 years ago, I bought a Datejust. This was a time when you could walk into an AD and buy pretty much any Rolex. It served as my daily until I got into this crazy hobby and started buying lots of watches….a rotation.

i wore it literally “beach to boardroom.”

if I didn’t have a suit and tie job, I might select a sub, GMT, Explorer Polar as a daily wearer but I did wear a suit for my career.

some people will say a sub looks great with a suit or tuxedo. I’m not 1 of them. I don’t care. If someone else does it, but it’s not ideal for me.

The professional line of Rolex was not intended for the profession of stockbrokering 😉

it really depends on your lifestyle..but DJ or OP is my vote.

post career I really like the 40mm Polar Explorer but don’t own 1. My Daytona is closest to a daily wearer cuz I like the watch..no date

Easily my sub and the reason why I bought it in the 1st place. 3 months of ownership and I've yet to receive a compliment or comment. I work in healthcare and deal with patients/docs/surgeons/staff all the time and prefer something that goes low profile instead of screaming "hey, look at my wrist!".

My prev daily was a Omega smp (another great GADA watch).

Nice. I recently got one for the same exact reason. It’s not a screamer :)
