My new watch came today (Casio PRG550-1A1).

I'm very happy with it's features, but I don't want to look like a
geek wearing a too-large watch, i.e. I'm concerned about its
look on my wrist.

I even made a trip into the office just to let people see it, and
their feedback was "big watch" but said it looked fine on me.

I think I have a 4.5" wrist by eyeballing.
I ordered a black face so that the dial would appear smaller.

Please give me your opinion.

Here're some pics of the watch on my wrist:
thanks!

I have a couple G-Shocks that would look large if they were SS. But as G-Shocks, they look fine. I think yours is okay.

it does look big, but if you can pull it off, why not (I said 'big', not 'too big'),

and worrying about looking like a geek wearing too large of a watch - the emphasis is not so much on the watch, but on you, how you carry yourself,

it's a nice watch and if you really like it, wear it with confidence

Thanks for the replies. Please, I highly appreciate your opinions.
You cannot offend me, so please feel free to be brutally honest.

I've been wearing G-shocks for the last 10+ years; and, if I keep this
watch, this Protrek will become my main daily wear watch.

It's big, but it's a black plastic Casio so it gets a pass. If you'd picked up a blinged out Chinese Chrono of the same size from your local stop and rob, my response would be different.

It would be too big for me, but it's ultimately your decision.

... Eyeballing isn't a great form of measurement. I bet your wrist is much larger than that.
I thought the same;)

To the OP: Your wrists are at min. 6" in circumference guaranteed, maybe even 6 and 1/4", and I'm just eyeballing here...

If you wear it like you think it is too big, it will be. Wear it like a boss and own it and it will be just fine. G-shocks can be bigger than many types of watches without looking clownish.

I think it looks good. That style of watch looks fine in that size.

Ok, as you guys probably noticed... I'm an indecisive person when it comes to small details.

When I first received this watch, I decided to visit my parents and planned to return it if my
mom use the word "big". And she did.

Then I decided that that was just 1 person's opinion, so I went into work and promised that
I'd return it if any of my coworkers described as "big". And they did. But I figure I'll give this
watch one more chance... so

I posted on this forum and promised that I'll return it if, within the first 10 posts, somebody
says that its just too big. And somebody did.

I think it is God's way of telling me that I should return it. But you know, it would be very
arrogant of me to assume that God wants to tell me anything about a watch. So, I figured
I'll just keep it when I took for an evening swim.

Still, I'd like to thank you for your feedback. Sorry that I didn't utilize your feedback in the
way that I secretly promised to do; but I hope to post a review and some more pics to make
up for it in the future.
