Dear All,

Following my post that created a bit of controversy: Weird feeling about Rolex (you can see the current watches I own).

I had an appointment today with my dealer, he called me since he received a few new watches.

I tried a few, you can see the pictures below. I am trying to find a watch that could go in complement with my Blancpain and my Seadweller. I was actually considering at some point why not going for a Submariner but he told me "forget about it, everyone got it, it's overpriced for what it is).

I tried the Daytona, but I'm not sure, I don't feel anything special about it, the price he is offering me is good but... When trying the Rolex I find them fairly inferior to the other brands he is offering. If you could try to convince me about it and/or giving me your opinions on the watches I tried and the one shown in the photos in the box, I would appreciate.

He offered me to go try each watch for one or two days and that I could decide after... which one you think i should give it a try ?

Ps: I kind of have some love for the Yacht-Master... i have to admit it.

Ps : fun fact the shop owner offered me more than what I paid for for the Blancpain telling me he found it is an absolute & very rare beauty and if I wanted to sell it he would buy it right away.

That Yacht Master is beautiful. I don't usually 'entertain' TT watches. However, that and the GMT 'Rootbeer', are something very special indeed. (y)

I’ve always liked that Yachtmaster.

But on to the real point, although I’m not sure will ever understand, of your post. With comments like this… I can’t take you serious or can’t take your looking for a Rolex serious…

“ When trying the Rolex I find them fairly inferior to the other brands he is offering. If you could try to convince me about it and/or giving me”

You noted that your first post was controversial…then you post that 🤔. Maybe you should change your user name to “DramaWatchQueen”. We can just call you DWQ for short.

P.S. I hope you sold the Blancpain.

Hello, yes indeed. My dealer also told me the same. He is a specialist in the high-end segment and also told me how gorgeous the Blancpain is, he also told me a bit about how they are made, it seems that everything is hand made every single component is hand-polished - finished, etc... The difference between a Rolex and the Blancpain when looking at the level of details on the. dial/case finish etc ... it's striking, another world.

I find the Yachtmaster pretty nice the dial shade is beautiful very unique... The Daytona is again a huge disappointment, it's too small, the lock screws for the Chrono well... my dealer also agreed on the small size of the Daytona. He recommended me for value to take the Daytona / Yachtmaster but that he would go for the AP or the Seadweller (but i already got one)...

I think I will borrow some watch from him as he offered and wear them few days each before deciding, will not rush anything.

Your dealer has some interesting watches. Like others have said, I’d definitely keep the BP chronograph. Beautiful watch and well made movement.

I'm confused; in most of your comments you seem to be suggesting that Rolex is way beneath what you expect to wear, yet you are considering buying one - why?

OP, I seen your watches on the other thread you made, they are all tasteful watches, with only one that is out of place, the TAG (my personal opinion). That BP of yours is gorgeous, and I don't even like BP, so, don't even think selling it. Now, in regard to those watches that you are being offered, the Daytona is plain ugly (my personal opinion), the TT YM is beautiful (biased opinion since I have one), and the only other watch that I would suggest is the gold Offshore (the white one will bore you in no time).

Because I have hope that there will be a Rolex watch that would be different in the range of Rolex that I would have missed, and I must say the Yacht Mater is something. It has a very beautiful dial far more unique than the one I tried before from the range. By the way, I'm curious what is the fuss about the Daytona, even my dealer was telling me it's overrated and that the chocolate one was probably the only one I should consider, it's true that the color is unique with beautiful shade on the dial but the full gold aspect makes it very bling...

Cheers

I also agree about the Yacht-Master the more I think about it the more I think it's a beauty. For the Daytona, I feel it's more of a watch for someone who already has the whole Daytona range and wants to complete it...

Two threads in 2 days... the connectors being the OP, and lowkey bashing Rolex. Yea that’s gonna be a no from me dawg. Best of luck in your attention seeking though!

I tried to put myself in his place and write a post for the Omega or Breitling or any forum for that matter and I can't even do it...
I can't imagine typing "I'm here to buy a watch that you guys all love although they are inferior..." The words just don't compute.

It's for sure a cry for attention I agree.

And I take back telling you to sell the BP you need that bling so people will notice. Apologies for almost steering you wrong.

Thanks for your comment, I am in China now this guy is a friend of mine. Funny story he told me about the Submariner, he told me those are often bought by a businessman looking to make a gift to employees. While the Daytona level and another watch of his range are often gift made to government officials or by business man to business man to celebrate a business deal.
