Founded in 2010, Torgoen Watches was started by an elite group of manufacturers and seasoned pilots with the goal of producing aviation-influenced pieces to appeal to both pilot watch enthusiasts and pilots themselves. And the brand’s been making beautifully-crafted pilot watches inspired by vintage cockpit instruments ever since, resulting in a watch lineup where you can truly feel the spirit and history of aviation in every piece.
It’s an approach that’s earned Torgoen such notable fans as Sir Richard Branson and acclaimed air show pilot and Guinness World Record holder Spencer Suderman. Now, the company has launched two new limited-edition collections: the T42 Swiss Automatic and the T25 Meteorite.
For a limited time, both will be available for 25% off, starting May 21st, as part of Torgoen Watches’ site-wide Memorial Day promotion.
The T42 Automatic
Like many of Torgoen’s signature watches, the T42 features a bold and straightforward design inspired by the ergonomic layout of an airplane cockpit, including luminescent digits and markers and large numbers that make the dial supremely easy to read, day or night.
Featuring a robust, workhorse ETA 2824 Swiss automatic movement housed in a 41mm high grade 316L stainless steel case with a see-through screw-down case back, the T42 is water resistant up to 100 meters (or 10 ATM). With a case thickness of 14.1 mm, the piece weighs in at 3.8 oz. The limited-edition release also boasts a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and a genuine Italian leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching.
Available in four different colorways, the vintage-inspired design behind the T42 is evident in the sophisticated color combinations on offer: a cream dial with a brown strap, blue dial with brown strap or black dial with black strap. But our personal favorite is the fourth option, a dark grey case with brown strap for an extra-classy look. Price: $790 USD.
The T25 Meteorite
Torgoen’s T25 Meteorite collection is out of this world – quite literally – thanks to a dial that features slices of the Muonionalusta meteorite, which fell in present-day Sweden one million years ago and was first discovered in 1906. That means that every single watch in this limited-edition series boasts a dial that’s completely unique, making the T25 not just a strikingly-designed watch, but a wearable piece of space memorabilia. Every time you look at your wrist, you’ll be looking at a segment of the oldest discovered meteorite to ever fall to Earth.
Beyond its unique dial, the T25 features a GMT Swiss Quartz movement made by Ronda, the 515-24H, which allows the wearer to set the GMT hand to a different time zone – another nod to the watch’s aviation influence. Much like the T42 series, the T25 has a 41 mm case made of 316L stainless steel, with a screw-down case back and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It also features a double “O” ring crown that provides a water resistance of up to 100 meters (10 ATM).
Offered in three style variations, all featuring genuine Italian leather straps and luminescent digits and markers for ease of read, the T25 Meteorite weighs in at 2.9 oz with a case thickness of 12.5 mm for a slim, light feel. Options include: the Metius with a vintage grey leather strap, Stadius with brown leather, and Clavius with black leather. All three are priced at $790 USD.
Both the T42 Automatic and the T25 Meteorite are limited editions, available exclusively on Torgoen’s website, which means they won’t last long. So, whether you opt for the bold, cockpit-inspired design of the T42, the truly one-of-a-kind T25, or any of the brand’s other aviation-inspired pilot watches, head to Torgoen.com – and be sure to take advantage of their special 25% off Memorial Day discount on now.
