We have now covered the main offerings from most of the key brands for Baselworld 2018, but there are still, quite literally, some gems to show.

Created in 1963, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona has established an extraordinary track record in the world of motorsport, rising to the rank of an icon.

For 2018, Rolex has introduced a scintillant gem-set version of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona. On this new 18 ct Everose gold version, in lieu of the tachymetric scale, the bezel is set with a gradation of sapphires in rainbow hues.

Modestly sized at 40mm, the watch relies on 36 baguette-cut sapphires in graduated colors that really do make up all colors of the rainbow for the wow factor. They are set on the bezel and hour markers on the dial and a total of 56 diamonds on the lugs and crown guards.

The watch is made in 18ct Everose gold, which is an anti-fade and anti-tarnish rose gold alloy developed by the Swiss manufacture, the sub-dials of the chronograph have also undergone a crystallization process so as to produce an illusion of pink gold crystals on them.

The new18k Everose Gold version is the successor of both the yellow and white gold versions of the Daytona “Rainbow”, that were introduced at Baselworld in 2012.

The “Rainbow” Rolexes have more than doubled in price in comparison to the original, which was priced at US$86,000.

While extremely limited, if you want to put in your order, or indeed, customize it to your own specifications, the reference number is 116595 RBOW.
