A watchmaker told me that some of the new Seiko models have a 31.5 mm dial, instead of the standard 28.5 mm dial.

Is there a list of the new Seiko dial sizes and their respective watch models?

Is shellerik going to update his excellent "Seiko Finder" site to include dial size?

Thanks in advance...

I think largly it's going to be watches that arn't modded an awfull lot, the more expensive ones. Sarb series, Sarx etc.

Some of the 5's are using 4R movements now like -

They might be the larger???
I don't know of any 7S series movement watch with a larger dial though. Larger cases tend to just include a chapter ring for the min markers.

Intriguing! I presume that a watch with a bigger dial must have a larger holding ring on the movement and a larger cavity in the case?

I suppose it makes sense for Seiko to do something like this, the prevailing trend seems to be for larger watches, and something like this would let them cater to that market without needing to drastically alter the manufacturing process..

There seem to be 3 main sizes so far. The regular 28.5mm of most Seiko 5 and SKX divers models. 31.5mm for the SARB dewaa models, at least some of them like SARB033 and company. The SRP711 and some of the earlier models have what I think is a 34mm dial making it the largest one I know of. I might be wrong on this since it's something i read on some site, but surely it seems that way looking at the pics.

Hands are of course longer too for the last models of the NEO line (34mm dial)

SRP619 is 33.5mm. Working on a dial for mine now. There is a larger spacer that the standard mvt spacer snaps in to. I'll take a pic if I think about it next time I'm at my desk.
It's a big "donut" basically, the ring being about 3mm thick.
Everything else is as before, and 28.5 mm dials will fit fine.

The movement on the big dial models is also a tad thicker (the plastic part).
So, If you swap the movement with another 4r36, it may not fit another SRP case.

I knew that some of the recent Seiko models had a larger dial. But thanks to the knowledgeable WUS users who posted I now know there are TWO new dial sizes!

So before you mod a new Seiko model you need to know if your dial is:

1. 28.5 mm
2. 31.5 mm or
3. 33.5 mm

Dial swapping will never be the same!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I couldn't find an answer hunting around.

Does anyone know the dial size for the SRP191 or similar models? I stumbled upon one for a great price and am thinking about picking it up as a nice small diver (36mm - great for my puny wrist) but only if I can swap out the dial - the '5 Sports' branding just isn't for me.

Here's a pic. The day/date is very close to the edge of the dial so I'm picking it's 28.5mm?

Thanks in advance.
