Hello WUS,

First I would like to say I enjoy a 36mm watch as much as a 41mm watch, both wear fine to me but the dilemma is that my 36mm watch is not a dive watch so there is more dial real estate due to there being no bezel. I cannot see the Tudor Sub in person so I will be buying this watch blind if I went ahead with the purchase. Now onto the post.

I dream of a Tudor Submariner with mercedes hands, in my price range is the Tudor Submariner 36mm, here is a link for example. Tudor Prince Date Submariner Rolex Oyster Case Automatik... for $6,033 for sale from a Trusted Seller on Chrono24

This will be a one watch collection, I will wear this watch everyday, and everywhere with me, even to formal events.

I cannot find a good picture online of a 36mm dive watch on a 7.5 inch wrist, if I happen to find one it will be a terrible close up photo and not a zoomed out photo. I am fine with a 36mm watch but a 36mm dive watch will have a smaller dial size which scares me since I cannot see the watch in person.

Can anyone share their 36mm dive watch on their 7.5"+ wrist or their opinion on this matter?

Not too small. It may take you a few hours to appreciate 36mm but when it happens you will smile wide.

I have 33mm, 34mm, 35mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm, 41mm, 43mm watches for my 7 1/4" wrist. All anyone needs is to have confidence in their own masculinity.

33mm watches used to be MENS watches. Since when did men become so insecure that they need to be reassured at every turn? This size question constantly comes up. Real men don't need to be continuously reassured about the size of their..... whatever

This is the 36mm diver I tried on at an AD. It doesn't look bad at all.

I think that watch looks fine. Perhaps it’s just the perception of typically wearing a larger watch that makes this one seem a bit too small. I routinely switch between a 42mm and. 36mm throughout the week. Each one has a different look and feel but honestly, each one looks like I’m wearing a watch. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wear what makes you happy and enjoy life.

Way too small. I tried on a 37mm Yacht master, looked horrible. Someone must have bought it, as I saw it in the wild 2 weeks later, and it looked horrible on him. Just doesn't work at all.

I love wearing my 38mm old school Tag dive watch, but for some reason, it just looks weird on a Rolex. I love me a 36mm OP or Explorer, (which has the same size dial as a 40mm Sub), but when you start shrinking a dive watch, that dial gets real small. Some brands can pull it off, but Rolex has bezels that are too thick to wear a small diver on a larger wrist.

My wrist size is ~6 inches (haha, a proper measure with measuring tape showed how small mine is!).

But I try to help, by measuring somewhere on my arm where it's ~7.5 inches, and I put the watch there:

If it looks too big on-screen, try sitting further back, till my arm size matches your wrist size, and see from that vantage point? The dial has a diameter of ~26mm, if I measured it right. My partner suggested, if you want, you could make a paper cutout (~26mm diameter for dial, 36mm diameter for the case), and try out that look on your wrist.

I tried on a random 36mm diver at an ad today. Imo it looks good and I'm not sure why many make a fuss about 36mm divers. I'm getting it for my birthday.

My wrist is similar in width to yours. I also regularly wear 36mm watches, but not with dark colored dials. A dark dial color makes a watch appear smaller. For a watch that already at your lower limit in size, it's not a good bet. I recommend either saving up for a 40mm Sub or trying other brands like Omega, Seiko and Sinn.

I realize my picture below isn't a dive watch, but I hope it shows that 36mm on large wrists being too small is NONSENSE ! I have an 8in wrist. I've worn this 36mm DJ two decades and it's always been fine. It's just the last 5-6 years, large watches have become trendier to some, and they all of a sudden think 36mm is too small. It's not. It's a classic size and if you like it, it's fine. The naysaers just got caught up in their own perceptions.

36m on a 7.5in wrist is fine. Go for it.
