Is there such a thing? I love these Autodromos, but really don't want to spend $700. An Alpha Panda dial would fit the bill as far as style, but I'm more than a little leery of a mechanical chrono for $200.

Yes the driver is nice and for 160 you got a great deal... Got any pics?Agreed. the Curve looks really nice, but $500 for a meca-quartz is too much. The classic driver runs half that (even less used of course) and is a much better value proposition. I got mine second hand (pardon the pun) for $160 and really like it as a daily, grab-and-go quartz beater. Straton are super interesting, and I hope they keep coming out with new designs.

That is nice and for 160 a steal! [emoji1303][emoji1303]![]()
Got the panda dial variant in 40 mm. They also come in 43mm for beefier wristed dudes. I quite like how the ticking second hand is relegated to the subdial at 3 o'clock, so it doesn't scream "quartz" every second.

It's quartz, but not mecha quartzThe Zodiac Grand Rally can get under 300 on sale like now from Watch Station. Very hard to beat I think: Swiss made, sapphire, Swiss mecha-quartz, 100M WR, 41.5x48. Its a bit big for me since I like 40MM and under, also thick at 14MM, but I've been tempted by this one for a very long time. Interesting history too as a reissue, I read that the original Zodiacs are rumored to be unbranded Heuer Carreras.
Okay, sure. The chrono hand ticks 4 or 5 times per second i believe, so is has a sweep like a mecha quartz, that was my point. It's quartz, but not mecha quartz
