Advice needed on resizing an Explorer bracelet please!

I know with the correct tools this can be done at home but I'd rather not risk butchering the screws on the bracelet due to tight tolerances or scratching the links in the process.
The downside however is that I've never had anything like this done at an AD before so I'm a little apprehensive handing over my 'pride & joy' (read: most expensive timepiece) to the sales staff at my AD for the same reasons just mentioned.
Should I therefore ask my AD to send the watch to Rolex for adjustment or is this likely to be deferred back to them i.e. a Rolex Service Centre?
Any/all advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

An AD should be able to resize a bracelet in minutes, take macro before and after pics just in case a ham fisted employee is on the bench.

Just buy the right screwdriver and you won't have to worry about butchering it. You will have it forever as well, so worth it.

I would much rather size it myself, where I know I'll be careful & do it right, as opposed to giving to some sales rep who doesn't care about your watch & may not know how to properly use tools.

Of course, I am waaaaayyyy too handy & do most things myself. So there's that.

Watch some youtube videos about resizing your Rolex bracelet, buy the right tools and do it yourself.

If you are being extra careful use some masking tape over the screw head in case you slip. If you feel its too tight, blower or heat gun the screw. Once you have done it you will be resizing all your watch bracelets all on your own from then on.

It's easy to do with correct screwdriver. It's a little harder if you need to use the adjustments inside the clasp. The right tools including some form of magnifier works well.

Otherwise go AD route, ask for assurance they will have their best person do it, express concern if needed, pics before after.

I've adjusted my latest 40mm explorer probably 5 times in last couple of weeks to get the best fit so realize it may take a few tries.

Doubt any AD would send the watch out on your behalf for bracelet sizing. Besides, even if your watch is sent out, there's no guarantee you'd get a master watchmaker to size your bracelet. What's to say they don't let the day 1 apprentice work on your watch at Rolex, when the person at the AD is a 20-year certifiede watchmaking veteran?

It's just a watch. Don't sweat the little things.

same position as you a few months back OP, I had to resize my explorer and was apprehensive about damage etc, but have also seen the 'professionals' damage a watch during a simple link change, so I did it myself, after all if anyone is gonna scratch it I would rather it be me, plus I have done a few changes on other watches.
I did it and it was easier than other watches I have done, I did it a few times in fact (trying a link either side) to get a far better fit, and would not hesitate to do so again if I had to.
