anOrdain is a small microbrand company based in Scotland. anOrdain makes watches with pretty unique enamel dials and the waiting list to buy one of their watches (selling at around $2000) is more than 2 years. They use the ETA 2824-2 and SW 210-1 movements in their watches.

If anybody has one of these, please share it with the rest of us.

P.S. There was one older thread relating to a specific model of anOrdain but I wanted to create a general thread related to the company where we can discuss anything related to the brand rather than reviving that old thread.

There are actually 3 different movements you can choose from when ordering the watch. I created a post a while ago when I was trying to decide which outlined the options. You can go with the La Joux option if Selitta puts you off…..that is IF you can get a watch….period.

Cheers for the heads up wgroves!

I really do love mine. The way the dial shines and the vibrancy of the colour are unmatched. But it is sooooooooo difficult to photograph, the one flaw is that the crystal could have use more AR coating. Not a problem in real life though.

You've all probably seen enough photos of mine so I'll just post one of my favourites.

As for more enamelling techniques, cloisonné is cool and they have done it (most recently with the Ukraine watch), there was the enameled linen for breast cancer awareness, but what I really want to see is the champlevé they showed 2 years ago (!) and said was meant for the model 3.

These watches are amazing looking. I think I’ve put myself on the waitlist 6 times in the past year.
i think once is enough and multiple times isn’t going to get you a watch any quicker. My guess would be that the waitlist was 2+ years a while ago and today (there’s been some recent press they got….see link below with video that’s been viewed around 35k times) is likely 3+ years or more.

From a recent WUS post…anOrdain Model 1 is feature at around 43 minutes into this video if you don’t want to watch the whole thing.

I am very impressed by them. But I am sort of on the fence until they start exploring some different enameling techniques such as Cloisonné.

anOrdain used to be available on MOMA store, but I guess they sold out
Morna does them (or did), but they have no plans on getting back into doing cloisonne due to the tremendous backlog on their regular watches. They'll consider going back when the backlog clears. Unfortunately it's not going to clear anytime soon.

The MOMA watches are the husband x wife anOrdain x Paulin collab (husband owns anOrdain, wife owns Paulin).

I almost purchased the model 1 last year just before they started their batch system.
Then I once more got the opportunity to buy one of their watches earlier this year. I was in the first 100 or so customers on their waitlist. But had to decline as I had other expenses coming up.
They said they will again reach out to people on their waiting list come summer. Hope I get the chance agin in the next couple of months! Third times the charm! Been wanting a grey fume forever now!

This thread is very welcome. I've been following the brand for a while. As it is an understandably ambitious price point for the impressive enamel craft and the absolutely right and magical combination of case design, font and printing, and dials for me hadn't been produced yet, I keep lurking and admiring. Every picture of one does confirm something special is going on. The clean aesthetic of the metals series also appeals and shows more good things can be expected.

A Model 2 launch date and an update on the waiting list
With a resurgence of greenery and longer, warmer days returning, we can begin to look outwards again with a sense of adventure and anticipation for the year ahead. For us, this means launching the revised Model 2, which we’ll be revealing Friday 22nd April, on the first day of the Windup Watch Fair in San Francisco.

Just before the new year, we promised a revised Model 2 along with some additional case sizes to the opaque line of Model 1s. We haven’t forgotten, and since January, we’ve been hard at work producing samples alongside our orders. These new additions to the Model 1 are also on the horizon, and we can’t wait to show them to you.

The Waiting List
To those on the waiting list - thank you for your bearing with us. Shortly after we reveal the updated Model 2s, we’ll launch the new sizes for the Model 1, and after this (early May), we’ll be getting in touch with those at the top of the waiting list. The customers at the top of the waiting list will have a week’s notice before being granted permission to purchase and a week to make the transaction, after which we will need to move on and invite the next group of people, until all slots are filled.

Once this process is complete, we’ll begin contacting people further down the list to provide an estimated lead time, tied to a small non-refundable deposit. We aim to provide a lead time to everyone on the list by the height of summer, but this task may take a little time, so we’d ask for patience during this process. The reason for the deposit is to whittle down the list and provide you with accurate delivery dates. Rest assured that we will get to everyone on the waiting list.

To keep the waiting time down as much as possible, we are, for now, still limiting each purchase to one watch per customer.

If you think you’re on the waiting list but you’re not sure, you can check by logging in to your anOrdain account. As long as you have a username and password, you will be able to log in and see a message confirming your enrolment.

If you have any questions about the waiting list, you can check our FAQs, which contain many detailed answers to the questions we anticipate you’ll want answers to. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here, then please get in touch. We’re always happy to help!

Well, guess I can say goodbye to getting a cloisonne. I doubt this will help their backlog.

So for anyone that wants to drool over the new case design we can't have....here is a link to a piece that had the new case that anOrdain recently donated to a Ukraine charity auction.....it sold for $10k! There are two pics and the second one really shows how stunning the design update is.
