Long past playing 'Taps' for that one.

 

I am guessing by the style that this is a small ladies watch, but could you confirm by measuring the diameter of the case, excluding the crown.

dating is easy in this particular case: The movemet is a Movado 157:

And as it still has the signature 150MN for the base movement (with sub second), it was made in the first production year - 1935 though.

23mm movement means the case is 28mm or so.

 

Which could make this a mans watch given some of the Acvatics were about that size.

 

Thanks for your help, it does have a 28mm case. I thought it was interesting that it has one wide single lug versus instead of what you normally see. Any comments?

 

The 1946 catalogue doesn’t show your watch. The only single lug watches in that are all ladies - but those are all for braid straps so not conclusive either way.

 

Either a fairly small gents' (28mm was a common gents' watch size until after the war, with the last 28mm gent's watches disappearing circa 1960) watch, or a fairly large ladies' watch (these were usually far smaller!). A sector dial and a sweep second hand with a long counterweight somehow don't get along with it being a ladies' piece, so I presume it was a small gents' watch.
