Any idea how to interpret GUB Glashütte serial numbers?

So, I was just gifted this beautiful Glashütte Spezimatic from the GUB era - and I'm trying to interpret the Serial number.

Does anybody have any idea on whether they mean anything in terms of manufacture date/year? I'm trying to place when it comes from.

I have an email out to Glashütte themselves, and hopefully they will have an answer for me, but if anybody here does as well, I'd really appreciate it.

The S/N on mine is 048866

I would venture that Mike S. will know if he sees this thread.

Good luck. Nice looking watch as well. Love those clean, uncluttered dial designs.
I heard from Glashütte themselves, and they said that in that era there aren't really records that can tell anything more than it was made between 1964 and 1980, and that it's a Caliber 74 if it has no date, and Caliber 75 if it has a date...

But that's enough for me. I'm going to consider this my "birth year" watch...

Well, it is the best in Soviet/East Germany technology…

Apparently, at the time the Caliber 74 was the world’s thinnest automatic movement.
