Any indestructible watches you would rather not scratch?

I have a few Elliot Brown Holton quartz watches (OK 6. And 1 auto) because I like them and they are well shock protected, good WR for wearing in the hills over my gear- but umm ..I don't want to scratch them - especially this one, they only made a dozen or so!

so I actually wear this Elliot Brown Canford if there is likely to be any threat level above, say, 1? (this is an old pic, the PVD has picked up a few marks on the edges , but the limestone came off worse):

Do you have any 'rugged watches that you 'baby', or field watches that will never see beyond the inside of your Range Rover?

Anything that is a scratch magnet gets a lot less rough and tumble than the others.

Prime example is the JLC Reverso, it’s polished case is such a magnet that I will normally wear it for sedate outings.

I have a Marathon GSAR that i bought for camping, but i tend to use my G Shocks instead. I think people think Marathon watches are tough, but hey really have no shock resist, other than the standard balance wheel s.r..

Now I'm curious. Isn't the Incablock system pretty robust? There are more than a few photo-proof testimonials of GSARs tolerating not just combat, but the repetitious rigors of combat training.

That system (or a version of it) is standard on almost all mechanical watches. It protects the balance wheel assembly, the most fragile part of a mechanical watch.

That just protects the balance wheel...

I don’t get why you’d buy a tough tool watch and then worry about scratching it. I own G-Shocks but rarely wear them. This is my goto beater.

This guy right here.

Traditional Flieger.

Built like a tank (36mm, way heavier than my 40mm Tissot)

All brushed finished so there ain't gonna be no hair scratches nowhere. It either looks scratch-less or whack because you had a terrible car crush.

Since I don't drive or do any rough sports, it's not going to scratch even if I use it as a daily.

It's a pretty heavy duty piece.

What it ALSO is however, is a 1/100 limited edition.

Yeah.... I'm saving this one until that once in a while when I really feel like it.

Here are my killer four. I don't subject my watches to extreme loads, but I don't worry about random scratches either. I try not to buy watches with IP coating (the only exception was for GW-B5600 on a composite bracelet with two steel links and a buckle).
And I also noticed that the more you protect a new thing, the sooner you ruin it.
