So, I recently (few months ago) discovered Marshall and Wristwatch Revival.

If you're not familiar, this guy makes FANTASTIC 40-45 minute videos showing him tearing down a watch, servicing it and rebuilding it. Just hypnotic. And they guy's narration (though somewhat repetitive if you've watched more than 6) is just relaxing as hell.

I consider it total horological therapy.

Are there any other fans of his on here?

(Here's his channel: https://www.youtube.com/@WristwatchRevival)

Been a fan since the beginning and the only patreon I subscribe to. His production value has always been spot on, it’s obvious he’s been in media production for a long time. He also has a great voice and attitude that comes through really well on video.

my favorite thing about the channel is that regardless of how true it really is, the premise that he’s really just learning and doing his best is very compelling as a viewer. It feels like you’re discovering what works and what doesn’t along with him, and seems very approachable and easy to follow.

First, let me say that I am a fan. Between his enthusiasm and the tech details of tear down, examination, clean, and reassembly is just fantastic.

That said, like may YTubers, I think that at times, there is editing which makes it look a bit easier than it actually is... or would be for someone not him, and not a pro watchmaker.

Again, fantastic.

However. I have not encountered more soporific video entertainment. Golf on TV was my old standby. Bob Ross was top notch nap inducer. But Wristwatch Revival? Insta-sleep.

Been watching his channel for a while. I love the way he explains what he is doing. I look forward to his video's.
He reminds me of another YouTube channel I used to watch however that channel has not been very active over the last few years. That channel is the Watch Repair Channel.

He's alright, great production levels and a decent watchmaker.

Though maybe it's the cynical European in me but I find his nice guy persona a bit try-hard and fake. Perhaps because he records his (voice) audio afterwards and 'acts' a bit, as he's sacrificing authenticity for the sake of entertainment. It's a bit disingenuous to me, but whatever, he's clearly trying to cater to a wider casual audience (also by being very repetitive).

Red Dead Restoration? Sounds like I have another one to watch...

Marshall is great, sadly as a hobbyist he doesn't get to work on the movements some pros have access to.

"Vintage Watch Services" and "Chronoglide Watchmakers" are also pretty good, one can see some unique and fancy movements.

Certainly beats the "This month's 17 watches between $300 and $2,000 you should buy today that are better than Rolex" crap that floods the Tube.

Oh man, I love watching Marshall work... He overhauled 2 different Omega Seamaster 30s and I was really impressed with their quality so I ended up hunting down one of my own. Mine's working fine, but I'd sure love it if he could clean & oil it. His careful attention to detail is what I dream about in a watchmaker...
