It is nice - yes. I would guess late 50's or early 60's but I'm far from sure.

Do you think that it's possible that Exacta was a distributers/retail brand (e.g. Junghans) but the movement was made by swiss manufacturer? Would such distributers brand be included in the 'bible' you referred to?

 

I have seen an Exacta before and that was made by Poljot

 

a) it says SWISS both on dial and case
Luminosity is T SWISS T MADE
b) Quality is too high for Russian

I too have seen 'EXACTA' but this is SWISS

 

Exacta has several entries in registers: Mikrolisk - The horological trade mark index

One of them looks like ' Junghans ' related line, the others are different. Maybe it's one of the brands which popped up in the 50's and vanished in the pages of horlogerie. I guess it cases a Landeron movement.

 

Mikrolisk mentions "SA Exacta / Ernest Strittmatter" of Neuchatel, Switzerland. This seems (to me) the most likely candidate ;-)

As I understand it, Exacta was never a Soviet/Russian brand. It was a Western European brand which sometimes sourced watches from the Eastern Bloc. So there's no reason for this not to be the same brand.
