AP offshore stopped ticking

Brought new Feb 2017.
Do not wear it much due to a very large collection.

Searched the net and it seems a common issue is oil running dry.

Have given it a good wind but no luck.

Anyone experienced issues with movements stopping?

"Oil running dry" in a modern watch that's less than two years old is highly unlikely, especially if it is worn (even infrequently). Modern synthetic oils simply don't dry up in such a short time period, if at all.

First, I'd check and see if you are still under warranty. As I recall, if you send your watch back to AP during the first year of ownership, they do a pressure test (for free) and extend the warranty. Otherwise I would recommend taking it to a trusted watchmaker or send it back to AP.

As you’re in the capital, pop along to the APSC listed on their site or Google shows, and let them fix it.
If you have the chronograph ROO, then “lubrication problem” is the non-technical reason you’ve been given.
If that’s the case, then AP will replace it, along with servicing the base caliber, and return it with a new service warranty. Hopefully you won’t suffer with it again during your iwnership.

Thanks. It's the non chronograph version. I'll book an appointment with the centre.
