Can't get much better than a pair of Royal Oaks, but Cartier Tank Louis Cartiers are also great.

 

Came in here to suggest Cartier. Also a big fan of the idea of having JLC Reversos inscribed with something meaningful to each of you, or doing the same with a pair of Rolex.

 

My wife and I want to get a pair of watch to celebrate our wedding anniversary, what is the best couple watch? Our top contender are a pair of Black dial AP Royal Oak in 41mm and 33 mm, reference number 15400 and 67650. Any other watch I should consider?

RO sounds to me like an excellent choice. If you want to explore some alternatives:

Nomos tangente in the low tier band,

Rolex OP in the mid range,

and ALS Saxonia thin 37mm in the high end tier would be also work pretty well imho.

I'd you're looking at square watches, also consider the nomos tetra. They come in 27, 29, and 33 edge length sizes.

That Reverso recommendation is spot on. One of the all-time great watches, multiple sizes, and a natural for adding an inscription that is meaningful to the both of you. What more could you want?

 

It is hard to top that AP pair. But I'd also second the JLC recommendation, their Reverso model comes in various sizes that may fit your taste and hers.

I have also been thinking of having a couple watch with my wife. But I have small wrist, just a hair bigger than my wife's. So we have an idea to get just one watch that we could share wearing. For now we're set to get the DJ 36, it's rather quite a long term target for us though.

 

I think your choice is the apex predator, but the cartier tank is a nice back up.

 

Was thinking the same thing for wifey and I also as our anniversary but that is still a few years away..

Was looking at Cartier Santos for something dressy or Rolex OP for something more everyday.

 

A Cartier Tank would be a good choice.

 

Different price range but my wife and I have both got Marcello C Tridents. I don’t often wear mine but she wears hers every day and I can’t let mine go as it’s the only watch pairing we have and it’s fun sometimes to wear them out.

First of all, congratulations to you both! I recommend the tank style; less common, and thus, less likely to be missed an unmistakable matched set.

 

A pair of Saxonias, for sure.

I had my heart set on the 1815 AC though, so we went with simply "his and hers ALS"

 

I agree that Rolex Datejust would be wonder couples watches. You can configure each (dial, bezel; bracelet, metal, size) to each person’s preference/personalities but still be same watch model.

Another excellent idea would be his/her Cartier Santos.
