Doing some digging on cool Solar watches.

Casio Oceanus and Seiko Astron lines have some cool stuff.

Here’s an Oceanus (OCW-T4000). Solar-powered, Multiband-6 (radio receiver), and Bluetooth. It can display a second time zone, easily swap departure/destination times, and can also change its 6 o’clock register to a 24-hour stopwatch. Very cool. The seconds hand hits the markers perfectly and the minute hand moves every 10 seconds.

Best in class can be subjective.
Best looking (individual taste)
Most reliable
Best value (relative)
Most technologically advanced
Most consistent quality through the product line.
Best at keeping time.

But, it is hard to argue against the Citizen Chronomaster, ok maybe not the best value.

Some excellent ideas posted in this thread. Obviously best in class depends on what class we're talking about! This is my solar collection:

G-Shocks are great for rough stuff

The Citizen eco-drive (bottom row, second left) is a great for casual when a G-Shock is a bit too chunky

The Citizen Skyhawk eco-drive (bottom row, second right) is great for world travel

The Oceanus is also a great travel watch and good for dressier occasions

Most worn is the Tissot t-touch titanium; two time zones, chronograph, countdown time, altimeter, barometer and compass.

The Citizen Skyhawk and the Tissot have travelled the equivalent of 10 and 6 times around the world respectively (and the Citizen has the wabi-sabi to prove it!) but are still going strong.

Cool watch, but yes, I do disagree. The answer to the question is obviously the Seiko SBXD007. 😉
