I find quartz to be the best choice for a field watch. Whats your favorite or what do you you wear when hiking, camping, etc?
Mine is my Vaer C5 field with white dial.

This has been my work watch for about 4 years now. 38mm. I work a pretty physical job, and it's held up fine. A few tiny flea bites on the case, but the crystal is still perfect. I wanted something lower profile then the g-shocks I used to use. I wear 2 pairs of gloves at work, and I wanted something that would slide under the gloves without getting stuck like the g-shocks used to. I went quartz for the grab and go appeal. It'll be the last work watch I buy. Retiring next year 💪🏻😁. Edit; green dial btw. Bad photo doesn't show that.

Nice watch and congrats! I’m turning 62 next month but plan on working another 5 years or so. I hope you enjoy retirement.

I had a Bertucci A-2T Vintage and loved it but gave it away.

This was a good excuse to get the famous Citizen "Ray Mears" pictured above.

Weirdly, I liked the Bertucci better even though the Citizen is a better spec watch.

ive got a bertucci that I like very very much, dont have a ray mears to compare it to, but highly endorse the bertucci as a tough beat the crap out of watch.

got my eye on a Timex expedition north titanium mechanical or Hamilton next.

Will catch flak for this, but I wear an mrw200 a ton. It’s super cheap field watch (adjacent?) that have zero issues beating the trash out of it. With hydromod the mrw looks great. Taking it out to MT on a fishing trip in a few weeks will see how it does

might most finest field-y watch there be. ABC functions, sturdy, legible, WR (well, except for that rascally dynamic pressure bugaboo). bot on the large size but if you're a manly man out a stompin 'bout in the fields and the glens and the medadow then it should be perfectly okee dokee

For the price you can't beat Vaer. Wish the lume was a little better, but it's not a deal breaker. This guy has been been from the mountains of Colorado to the bottom of the Grand Canyon; from the ocean to freshwater springs.

I don't own a quartz field watch, but if I were to buy one I would go for a Timex expedition (Indiglo is very convenient) or a Citizen Eco Drive.
