I can’t decided between blue or black (on a bracelet) for my next purchase. I have two blues already and only one black dress watch. Looking for a dressy casual watch.

Which in your opinion are more versatile for everyday wear as well as with a dark grey and navy suit?

Black is more versatile.

Blue is the new black. Blue dials have been around for a while but the number of brands offering blue dial models has increased. Why? Because men’s fashion has changed. Guys are more inclined to wear a dark blue suit these days than a black one. And blue denim is increasing worn with an open collar dress shirt in business casual work settings. Blue dials watches also look great on the wider range of strap colors now available because blue is a primary color. Bottom line, blue dials are more versatile today than black.

Never considered the fact that as a primary color, it's ability to match various straps is wider. Thanks!

Since you already have two blue dial watches and one black dial watch in your collection, you may want to think about adding one more dial colour to your collection and that is a grey dial watch. And, they come in a variety of colours from medium steel, light silver, matte graphite to deep charcoal. Plus, they are quite versatile with everyday wear, as well as, with a dark grey or navy/blue suit.

- Just something for you to consider.

Black.

Also, do some googling on how blue dials pair with different leather straps. For me, I don't like the look of blue with black leather strap. Blue with brown - dark, reddish, or even "toffee" brown, fine, but throw a black strap against a blue dial, and it doesn't work for me.

Black can take dark browns, and even some reddish browns, but not light brown or "toffee" at all. So it goes both ways.

But black wears with just about anything. Blue not necessarily. Don't get me wrong, I love blue, but not in a dressy/sporty hybrid (like an OP-style watch).

However, I think white, off-white, or cream dials are superior to them both. They "pop" easier, but not in a garish way, and they truly go with virtually every other color you could wear without clashing. To me, black can clash with other colors like navy blue. I grab my white dial dressy watch over my black dial 2 to 1.

Both black and blue dials are versatile and will go well with your suit colours as well as for a dressy casual piece.

I'd just go for whichever you prefer in any given watch and not try to fulfil quotas, just because you have this or that already. Get what you like and prefer.

However, I would also add the option of a white/silver dial or grey and that opens up additional choices just to make choosing more difficult!!
