Wanted to ask around to see what others' experiences with Casio's customer service have been like, and that if the way I got mine is how it should be, for some strange reason.
I got myself a GBX100-2 while they were in stock on the site this week, and it arrived yesterday. I didn't think much of any of this, but the upper foam in the tin was torn, and there were no protective plastics on it, as I've seen on other watches. Then going through the menus, I notice it's already set to California time, with a second world time set, but don't remember what. Oddly specific, but whatever. It was also showing notifications... maybe demo notifications? Seems strange they would be demonstrating this with emails from Nike, Rockstar games, and a carry-out food order confirmation.
Then I'm going through the settings and looking more closely at it and notice some admittedly small, but still present, scuffs on the bezel, and it hits me, I think they sent me someone's returned watch!
Now, none of this seems normal to me, but I've come across stranger occurrences in my life, and wanted to see if anyone else has received what should have been a new G-shock similar to this, and if so how was it handled?
More broadly, is Casio CS normally pretty receptive to hearing about something like this? I can't say a couple small marks are a deal-breaker for me, but I feel like the manufacturer shouldn't be selling what seems to be pre-owned as new...
I submitted a contact request on their site (or at least I think I did, the page didn't do anything when I clicked submit)
