Bought the GR7900KG-3 off of ebay. The battery was dead when I received the watch. I charged the watch and eventually came back on. It took almost 3 weeks but eventually the charge light quit flashing and the battery level is now on high. The problem I have now is the watch is in power saver mode, no buttons will work and has yet to auto set the time. Is there anything I can do to try and make the watch work properly?

Would you mind posting a clear photo of the watch? Ebay is littered with fakes, and unfortunately, what you've described, is not the normal behavior for a genuine G Shock. A close up photo would give us a better idea of how to direct you/...

So what happened buddy - did you discover it was a fake after all?

If it's a GR-7900 it won't auto set the time as it's not atomic - that would be the GW-7900. And there have been some reports about unresponsive buttons on that model. If it's still under warranty I'd return it.

cheers, Sedi :)

That's why in my first post I asked to see a photo of the watch. If the watch had been sold to the OP has having an 'auto set' to the correct time, there's obviously something dodgy going on... :-!

If you're not careful discharging your body static when you swap a solar cell you can fry it pretty easily too, knock down its capacity a lot. I had an old solar Casio get stuck just like this but it was because the battery was screwed up. I left it in a drawer for a few months until the battery was COMPLETELY dead and recharged it, everything was back to defaults.
