Hello, as an addicted Casio watch guy I would like to buy one more even if I don’t need it so badly. This time an “old school” running watch (non smartwatch I mean). I can’t decide between these models on the title. They are cheap enough and I could give to one of them a try. The other idea is to ignore them and purchase the new gbd-800 which has Bluetooth technology and is quite affordable too. Finally do you propose any other model maybe similar to all these? I would like to hear your opinions.

With regards, alalas

I have a GBD-800 and had to modify it because the negative display was not very legible. It wears large and is rather thick but works well and, with a positive display, is nice. An alternative is the analog-digital GA-810, unfortunately discontinued. Its sibling, the GBA-800, lacks a "second" hand in the analog part - similar to the GBD situation, the negative display is critically bad (at least for me). The only current Casio with a negative display that is easy to read is GBD-200. It is more expensive that the GBD-800, but is thinner and more "interesting" in term of technical innovations. Both GBDs can be used without connecting via Bluetooth, albeit the GBD-800 has the more classical (better ?) user experience when only pushing the buttons.

Among the other models you mentioned, I was looking to buying a WS-220 for some time, so I'm curious to hear what others have to say.

Wow!! You've got the three of them!! Good job. Yes as you said the negative display is really dark. This ironman looks awesome too, bit it is not tough solar like the casios. I think that the stl-s110 is very large so i think i will decide between the ws220 (which has very good reviews even if it is an old model) and the timex ironman 50 or 100 laps whichever i find cheaper.

I have the WS200H which has lap counter and lap memory. I use it for swimming to count my laps and for timing pace.

My wife has the Phys STW1000-8JF (comes in 4x different color combinations), which has same lap counter and lap memory.

I like my wife's watch better, because the numbers are larger. She is using hers for swimming too. It also has mineral glass and MB6 atomic time adjustment.

Both of our watches are solar. Both of them are officially 100m water resist. We press the buttons under water (lap counting, but otherwise too). Never a problem. At the end of swimming, we press the buttons to remove excess water from the cavities.
