Centered or off center Clasp?

Does anyone wear their watch with the clasp centered from the case, or is it off center, like the clasp is closer to the 6 o'clock side (or shorter on the 6 side than the 12 side)? Mine is dead center, with 9 links on the 6 side and 10 links on the 12 side.

Which is correct? Dead center clasp or off center clasp?

Shorter on the 6 side by a link or so for a better fit. Oddly, this centers the watch on the top and the clasp underneath the wrist on most people. A little trial and error will tell you how much to bite off to start, then you tweak it. After doing a couple you'll get a feel for it. Plus you'll have templates.

Can the clasp position help to keep the entire watch from rotating toward the outside?
I have not worn a bracelet for decades and would like to try one if the watch can be kept from rotating outward.

Every bracelet watch I've ever owned would rotate toward the outside of my wrist if the clasp was left in the position it was in when purchased. I move as many links as need be to make the 6 O clock (bottom) links at least 2 links shorter than the 12 O clock side of the bracelet. With the clasp dead center on the underside of my wrist my watches (all 2 of them) remain top dead center on my wrist.

This was not so critical with my Carrera cal 5 watch because the new model bracelet has a much smaller clasp but the bracelet still required link swapping.

If you are not equipped or not a finesse person be very careful with your DIY work. If you have the dealer adjust them for you make sure it's correct before leaving the store.
