The GBD-200 has such an awesome display, how come Casio didn't give the majority of the world the option to have the date in the correct format, i.e. DD/MM instead of MM/DD.

And considering the amount of available space - why not DD MMM (e.g. 11 Jan).

Could these options come in a software/firmware update at some point?

None of the MIP display Casios have this option, even after firmware updates on some models. Its pretty annoying tbh.

Well, the Japanese use YYYY/MM/DD to write their dates, so MM/DD is correct for them. Correct for the US as well, so that's probably considered a bonus.
Casio has been adding the option to switch to DD/MM to their refreshed models (the "U" ones), but I don't expect it to be released as a mere software update to existing ones.

It would be nice to have the option, in my line of work (in the US) we have to write the format of Day/Month/Year, for example 12Jan24.

I also really wish there was a GBD-200 solar option, which would be a near perfect G for me. Having said that, just made it to 2 years with light use (stopwatch, occasional light, no smart options enabled).

The DW-H5600 is exactly that.
