I've been a Genteel handmade customer for a few years and had nothing but positive experiences. The quality is excellent and the owner is responsive when I had questions. I think their ostrich leg straps are particularly nice and have several in different colors for different watches.

Do you mind posting some photos of your straps from Genteel? Or share some comments.

I'm wondering particularly about the thicknesses of their straps and the thickness of their leather used. What I mean is; a 3-4mm thickness strap that uses ZERO padding material to achieve that thickness. (1.5mm to 2mm thick leather doubled up to make a strap, 100% leather).

This has recently been an aspect of higher end straps that I find to be NUMBER ONE in importance. Since any strap maker can use high end leathers, but often times use like 0.5mm gauge of that leather, and achieve a strap thickness of 3-4mm using 2mm+ of non-leather materials. (Synthetic? padding, etc).

Genteel's prices seem fairly high... UNLESS, they are using 100% leather for their straps.

Love to hear your thoughts, as I am constantly looking around for more luxury straps~ Thanks in advance.

 

I know this thread is old but I figured I'd share my experience. I've had two straps made from Genteel Handmade. Leather is 100% and fantastic quality, and you can choose the type of leather. You can get padded or not padded, and I believe you can even dictate the actual thickness. I got a regular brown buttero padded strap with the butterfly deployant, and a brown rally strap made for the Omega Deployant. Tons of color options on the leather, lining leather, and stitching. You can do two stitch, or no stitch. Overall, excellent brand with great quality, totally worth the $.
