Hi all, the other day I picked up this early bumper E. Borel Co. Super Autosport at a steal for just $18 USD. It is in stunning condition and running perfectly!
The caliber is a 1171 which I believe dates it to around 1940. It is a 'military style' watch although I know this doesn't necessarily mean it was used during the war. It has quite a thick case and is fairly heavy - most of my watches from this era are much lighter and thinner in profile.
I have noticed someone has filed something away on the inside of the caseback, does anyone have any idea what was once written there?
I thought I would just share this beautiful piece, if anyone knows any additional information about it I would really appreciate it! I don't believe these early bumpers are common?
