So I got given a sekio snk807 for early xmas, such a smart looking little field watch. But, at 37mm it's just a little too small for my wrist (EDIT 6.9 inch). Saying that, I do love it and like to wear it, but I honestly do notice it's smallness each time I glance down. Anyone been in a similar situation? Do I persist? or face reality that 40mm-42mm is my sweet spot and replace it out?

While it was only $150AUD so no big loss, it was a gift which makes things harder.

No way would a 37mm be too small on 6.6 inch wrist, but no, have never found a watch too small, so have never had an issue with keeping or letting it go, based on size--I have a 35.5mm with just under 7 inch wrists, and it looks and fits perfect, and same can be said for a 34mm I used to have.

I don't see why a 37mm watch would be too small for a 6.6 inch wrist. I think it's just something you need to get used to. I bet after a month or two of wear it'll seem perfectly suited to you.

I’ve only recently got into watches. I’ve come from MVMT watches prior to this which are all at 45mm. So I suppose I’m just used to a bigger dial when I look down. My Seiko SPRE55K (40mm) and Timex Fairfield Chrono (41mm) just look much better in size when I glance down.

Also just measured again and got things wrong. I’m 6.9” or 17.6cm.

It's all personal taste. I've seen far smaller wrists think far larger watches are too small. If you don't think you'll ever get over it then best move on. But for whatever my pair of pennies are worth, I have a 7 1/8" and I could happily wear a 37mm field watch.

My wrist is 7.75 inches. A few years back, I favored watches between 42 and 44mm. These days, I prefer 38 to 40mm for daily wear and only pull out the big guys for outdoor beater duty.

Like kritameth posted above, its all personal taste. There's plenty of folks on here with wrists my size, 7.5" ish that happily wear smaller watches. For me, 40mm is as small as I'll go. But a 37mm on a 6.6" sounds perfectly normal to me. You said this is your first foray away from larger watches, such as MVMT(bravo for that, and thank god, welcome to the light, my son), so I think you're just not used to it. Give it a bit of time, my bet is you'll grow to like, or even love it.

Nope. Don’t think 37mm is too small for your wrist size. I think it may feel weird initially, but if you keep it on your wrist, you’ll find that it’s okay.

I have a 7.5” wrist but I do sometimes take my old Tissot - a 34mm - and wear it. It was okay for me back then in the early nineties and it still feels okay to me now.

Yeah cheers for the replies everyone. It might just take time. I still think 40-42mm is my preferred size (personal preference). But I’ll give my little snk807 some more wrist time and hope it grows on me more.

How can a wristwatch possibly be a wristwatch too small? Do you have eyesight problems?
No need to get nasty. Plus, isn't whats too small and what's to big subjective to the wearer anyway?

No way a 38mm would be "perfect" on a 7 1/4 inch wrist. Same size as my wrist and anything smaller than 42 looks really silly small.
I have a 7.25" wrist and 38mm is absolutely ideal for me.

It's all up to your personal taste.

To the OP's question, I have a Seiko 5 that I love, but at 36mm, it feels too small for me. But, it's such a classic size and aesthetic, and it was my first automatic, and it was a gift from my wife... so I'll be happily keeping it forever. And wearing it regularly, it begins to feel less small.

But it's really about your preference. If you can't get past the small size... you don't have to!

It is all about preference here. I say wear it a few days/weeks and see how you feel before making a decision
