Since December is here, the leaks and rumors about 2023 has come to an end. Now, we shall look for the 2024 leaks and rumors.

I'll open this with a report from the japanese GShock blog: there seems to be a new analog Frogman (GWF-A) in the works for 2024.

The news came after they found out an Asian certification agency got a request for another GWF-A to be released somewhere during the first half of 2024.

The blog considers the possibility it will be another ICERC colab that usually comes out in June but suggests that instead it might be another colab before that.

Of the models already in the rumor pipeline, I'm most interested in the GD-B500 and the GR-B300.

I'm a big fan of the GD-350 and GD-200 so the prospect of an updated, upmarket, and improved watch in that family is exciting.

I own the GG-B100, the Mudmaster brother to the current GR-B200, which I find underwhelming. Hopefully the new model will strike a practical middle ground between the plasticky B200 and the higher-end and much more expensive CF Gravitymasters.

Excited about the anniversary Casiotron!
What would be the best avenue to get hold of one? Do these limited releases typically get sold through the authorized distributor network or will they get released online?
I've always come across the more limited Casio's in local AD's (Asia) or have ordered online from a known good source in Japan. Safest bet is to pre order if you can, although not all Casio AD's can pre order as much comes down to the regional distributor.

As ever a good relationship always helps as the AD's will likely only have stock of a very few pieces. One of 350 if memory serves, only ever saw the one in a Casio Boutique here in S.E. Asia.

They are common across Asia, up to and including Boutiques that are easily equal to the likes of the big Swiss brands in appointment & service. Those in the west should start looking now, plenty of dealers out of Japan are happy to sell internationally. Locally probably roiling the dice and if the demand spikes the usual suspects will fly in like the vultures they are...

Some may get lucky as in some regions the distributor decides which outlet the watches goes to. In which case you can expect MSRP and a very few pieces, potentially just the one. That's I how I got my MTG-G1000RG-1A which is a good deal scarcer than the TRN-50, equally that was from a Casio AD.

ha I was about to post this.

Here we go..

But not sure why they had to make it limited.

I think they will release regular models later on and models are cheaper, this is the 50th anniversary limited release. The artificial scarcity is to drum up interest.

Man, who has a Casio AD?

My Casio "AD" is Walmart. Walmart ain't selling this, lol.
Funny enough Walmart was not listed as an authorized dealer on G-Shock's page back when they had them listed, similar to Amazon.

The idea of ADs being high end watch boutiques where you can't buy the product you want is a modern concept. I did buy a $150 Casio at one of the high end boutiques that was a G-Shock AD and got the white glove treatment which was surreal.

For some of us using a G-Shock AD is just a nice way to ensure we get our hands on limited edition watches and talking to a human salesperson. For me it only makes sense when I get a nice discount, otherwise I get it from where it's most convenient. You don't always need a "relationship", just reach out to some of them and ask if they can get you the watch you want.

Casio already reiisued Casiotron once.

TRN110 is titanium and TRN120 was steel and can be yours for reasonable money.
100% it way cheaper than new reissue.
These came out in late 1990s. They were not very popular from what I see. I did not know about this untill a few years ago when I saw one in bad nick for sale and did some research on it. Initially I thought that the module was replaced.

Hoping for a MIP watch with Tough Solar and Multi Band 6!
Least likely to happen at this point. MB6 is a niche product now, reserved for the flagship watches due to its limited scope. For the MIP watches which are targeted for younger audience and are far more mass produced, Casio has adopted the time reception technology that can be accessed by anyone.

I have them all, when in range and within a timezone MB6 is set and forget, you can pick up your watch after a long time and know it is showing the correct time. BT is not like that. Unless you have the app running in the background of the phone it wont sync. Also from time to time its is struggling. GPS needs to be close to a window or something in order to sync.
But when you are on the move, which means you can actively sync your phone, or hit the GPS sync button, BT/GPS are superior because of global coverage. I often spend time in areas where there is no coverage so having MB6 watches there is pointless. I can still use the mobile app but you need to change the home city to that of the remote location and it is clunkier than syncing with BT.
So for me when on the move its BT/GPS all the way, when at home I use them all.
