G shock squares slipping round wrist 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyone got any tips to stop a square sliding around your wrist? I’ve got one of them annoying wrists where one hole in a G square strap is too tight and the watch can’t move at all and the next hole is too loose so the watch constantly migrates to the turn of my wrist (it don’t actually go round the side of my wrist) and this bugs the hell out of my coz I’ve got to always re put the watch back to its correct position. I can guarantee I’m not the only bloke who has this ha ha
is there some kind of aftermarket wings things like you get on some G shocks that fit under the strap/caseback to hug the wrist better and stop the watch twisting round?
cheers 👍🏻

I have exactly the same problem. Either it's tight or it's loose. It is for this reason that I stopped wearing G-Shock with rubber straps. Either steel, or, if the watch should not be felt on the wrist, (for sports, for example) a combined plastic bracelet. Flat wrist 17.5 cm.

Change the strap. Casio designed a few G's that fit like a glove (i.e. the G/GW-2300, AWG-100/M100, G/GW-056 etc). The square is not one of those for folks with smaller wrists in its default form.

This seems to be a popular topic.

I stopped using belts with holes years ago when I started using this type of hole-less belts:

  • I wish there were watch straps with this design
  • Infinity adjustable belt (strap). The belt (strap) adjusts to your waist (wrist) size

On the other hand, I prefer bracelets. I've installed CBs on several squares.

They look good:

You size them for your wrist and the micro adjusting holes ensure a perfect fit:

There are watch straps like this. They are called Perlon. They are available from various vendors, in both one-piece and two-piece designs.

I did very recently have a combi, loved the look but the lugs poked out too much with it on and the bracelet kind of went down at a right angle, I was gutted as I really did like it a lot, absolutely pain to fit though.

They do actually do that on some straps, some newer model straps have loads of holes (usually the double hole type) for the very reason of getting a better fit as clearly loads of customers have the exact same problem of being a wrist size between holes, hopefully every new G will have loads of holes 👍🏻

This is such a common problem with rubber and leather straps, yet many are reluctant to punch an extra hole, provided that there's enough material between existing holes to allow it. You can get punch kits off Amazon or Ebay for a few dollars and they're all good enough for occasional use. Use the smallest punch that you can fit the tip of the buckle tang into, lay the strap on a piece of wood with the show side up and give the punch a couple of sharp raps. Nothing to it.

Thanks loads for that info, very very helpful, I did in the end actually make a very small hole (almost disappears when tang not in it, works well as the middle hole between the other 2 and I now use all 3 during the day as wrist swells/shrinks but I’d much rather do a proper job with the tool you mention especially on my 5000U (I done the DIY on my 5610U) I’d really like this tool for both and for future and other current G’s, do you know if the tool is specifically for rubber/leather watch straps or for belts etc too? Like a universal tool? I’d like one just for watches.
I’ll have to have a look on eBay and Amazon UK, thanks so much for the tip 👍🏻👍🏻

I’d get a different band. A different size (maybe small rather than medium) or just a different band that might have the holes spaced differently.
