Aside from the INSANE amount of sport options now with this watch (hockey, football soccer, etc) one thing I really want to point out is how nice the backlight is. The picture below (no editing other than cropping the picture) is just at 10% backlight but it is the nicest/cleanest light I’ve seen a Garmin watch have. Very impressed

 

To my eye, this new I2X is the best looking Instinct due to its symmetrical shape and 26mm strap.

 

Just placed an order for the I2X Tactical Black (and canceled the FR965 order) 🙂 Really great that these are 26mm QuickFit compatible 👍

 

I'm a huge fan and I would love to get this as soon as possible, it's a very good upgrade.

 

Garmin kinda knocked it out of the park on this one (not that the regular instinct 2 solar isn’t great)
And the pricing is very reasonable.

 

This one is really going to hurt the G-Shock park.

If I was not that much into accurate cartography with my Epix Gen 2, this one would have been on my wrist ASAP.
The Solar integration is really a milestone and it will be soon on the wrist of many soldiers and outdoorsmen.

Yes. The launch of I2X was perfectly matched to those of GBD-H2000 and DW-H5600.

 

The G shock has become the digital Rolex. There’s new colors and shapes, but the real innovation is done by other companies now.

 

Big solar panel…but no, you have to look at it from an angle to see it.

 

I got mine. It really is a a Hell of a watch.

 

Worried about the 100 meters water resistance, it doesn't sound like a lot
Can you swim with it, or just shower?

 

If you can dive to 100m with it, swimming is not an issue 😉👍 How deep you would go?

There are a multitude of watch faces that you can select. So yes. Or no. Up to you.

 

Can you wear it as a "normal " watch 24/7?

Yes you can. I don't have my I2X yet, but my Fenix7 and Enduro2 are in daily wear, sometimes also during night. I don't recognize their HR sensor bump at all as it hits the soft tissue, not bone. I expect the I2X to be equally comfortable.

I got the infinity charge indication on my Instinct Solar 1 after giving it too much sunbath. It remained couple of days and then returned to normal xx d.

 

My I2Xt just arrived and we already had first walk together. Really great watch, especially with 26mm QuickFit band, which is much more comfortable to wear than the original.

As expected, the display is much better to read due to the bigger sized area and pixels. GPS seems to be on F7&E2 level as I compared it on same route.

Backlit is on 20%, which is more than enough. Screen seems to have more blue tint compared to some other user photos, although it looks darker in different lighting conditions.

Yes.

 

As expensive as they are, one would think they would have had this in their MR-G line well before now.

 

MRG line sells for more than regular Fenix.
MARQ from Garmin sells for about same as MRG and that market is tiny. And there are already enough players in it. Whole bunch of Swiss are already in it.
If you don't know you can get Montblank, TAG, Hublot and few more in 2-10K smartwatch category.
Not many people are on the market for 4000$ smartwatch and entering it more risky. Watch company with established clientele will stay away from it as long as they can.
But i think eventualy they will present MRG sports watch.
Not to mention even Garmin is slower to update their MARQ line. All new goodies are in Fenix, Foreruner and Instinct.

There is huge elephant in the room. Apple which sells more AW pro's than whole Garmin sells all their smartwatches. And these also compete for same customers.
