The GBD-H2000-1A9CR or the GBD-H2000 is the coolest watch. It can update features with the GPS and Bluetooth, use solar power with a USB cord if needed, and has a altimeter, barometer, and compass. The newest Rangeman is the only upgrade.
You’re absolutely correct. I own three GBD-H2000 G-Shocks and 4 GPR-H1000 Rangeman. I love all the features in them. I have Bluetooth turned off on all of mine and have them all in airplane mode. This allows all the watch functions to work 100% off the solar panel that’s underneath the crystal. I like the looks of the Rangeman better and wear my Rangeman 24/7. I have never charged it ever since I received it from Japan about 4 weeks ago. The battery level is still at 4 bars just like it was on the day that I received it from Japan. It’s a very beautiful looking G-Shock and it’s very durable. Here’s a few photos of mine.

The upgrade in size from the GBDH1000 to the GBDH2000 in GPS ABC watches is the quickest Casio has ever done. The GBDH1000 looks like a watch from the 1990's while the GBDH2000 looks like a watch from the 2000's.

I think the discontinued limited edition Rangeman GPRB1000 was a test run because it costs so much more money that nobody wanted to buy it 6 years ago.

When the Casio G-Shock Riseman came out it took many years for Casio to make a Casio G-Shock Rangeman with full ABC. The Casio Pro Trek and Casio Pathfinder already had ABC.

Now that the Casio playing field is equal with solar, atomic, and ABC as a standard on Casio watches. The Casio G-Shock always has 200m water resistance while the Casio Pro Trek and Casio Pathfinder usually have 100m water resistance.

The GBDH2000 GPS ABC is now the gold standard for Casio. Not all the features are in the watch, but with updates it can be. An example is hourly chime. Maybe somebody forgot to put it in the watch that day and they realized it's a smartwatch. 😂

you were talking about how long it took casio to get to "level one instinct" not if the gbdh did what it was sposed to do, even tho it pretty much did, just a bit slowly and clunkily, which in the scheme of things wasnt too bad for a first effort at a hrm fitness related G.
gbdh1 released in april 2020 so it took casio 3 years to reach level 1 instinct? still not too bad for a company that has had very little to do with fitness/smart watches as opposed to garmin who are dedicated and STILL took 10 years to work out solar 😉
I agree. This is an excellent point that you bring up Testu.

its been 3 years since the gbdh1, is that what you mean by "this long"? is 3 years long for a company thats never done fitness watches?
its been over a decade and garmin are still making ugly, faceless generic looking watches (and simply cheap look and feel ones when it comes to the instinct) how much longer do you think before they get to the point of rangeman or less lofty heights of 6900? 🤔
Another excellent point that you bring up on here Testsu. The Garmin is not a very nice looking watch. It’s ugly imho.

It took same time for Casio too. And Casio did not excel at it as much as Garmin did.
But considering there are not many other companies which came out with solar fitness smartwatch it is achievement.
You saying it took XX years to put solar on smartwatch. But it actually opposite. It took XX years for technology of smartwatch to reduce power consumption to meet solar capabilities. And that actually big deal. Because you need to put solar on watch which consumes 100s times more than a regular watch. It takes quite advancement to reduce consumption of GPS enabled fitness smartwatch with HR in order to make it solar compliant.

Considering now Garmin with solar is indefinite in smartwatch mode on it second gen of Instinct solar there is quite a progress. And nothing should stop Casio from taping into same parts bin and producing similarly capable models. OR hopefully better ones.
You’re right and Casio definitely will do that in due time. I’m very confident that Casio will build better solar gps G-Shocks in the near future.

i use those kinds of examples in a facetious way because its always in response too ppl making the very common yet incorrect comparison between garmin and Gs with the assumption that theyve been competing or working on the same timeline or have the same goals or have produced watches that are the same. even now youre putting casio (who has only really put one proper fitness related model to market that comes kind of close to garmin) in the same race with a company thats done 50 (? i dunno, prob alot) of diff models all with varying degrees on the same theme. its a ridiculous double standard. ... but lets try not to make yet another thread about comparing apple pie poptarts and oranges.

you say it took xx years to put solar in but dont you think for a company not only dedicated but at the fore front of fitness/smart watches shouldve done it alot sooner? i mean it is the great and all powerful garmin we're talking about here! 🤷‍♂️ 😅 shouldnt they have at least beat casio to the punch on that one?

also why has garmin still not reached dw6900 level of styling yet after all these years? why is the industry leader making instincts that look and feel like they were subcontracted to smael?
You’re right Testsu.
Also, Garmin does not build G-Shock watches like Casio does. Casio has come a very long way over the last 6 years with their MIP solar gps G-Shock hrm abc watches and they’ll go even further in the next 2 to 3 years when they introduce more advanced MIP gps watches.

Imagine we have someone from Casio as been alleged reading this forum and we have plenty of folks here claiming they here only for a MIPS and don't give a thing about smart features..... May be you folks are reason Casio is so behind any other competition in this game. Because you folks tell Casio via this forum. We don't need smarts.
Shame... shame... shame.
Because of you i had to buy 3 Samsung smartwatches! And looking at buying #4.
But seriously with so many voices here saying we don't need any progress what progress you expect? In next 10 years.. may be.... Casio will add positive screen option and another 2 fitness tracking profiles.
May be in 20 years we will see 1/100 second stopwatch. Remember it's all because of you!

Rant over. I don't get you. How you tell these things when you absolutely indifferent to all actual improvements in these watches?

anybody knows if its possible to install right to left fonts on the gbd h2000? specifically a Hebrew font
I'm not sure but I think that the gbd-h2000 has the abilityto show font in other languages. I know that mine shows everything in English. Youmaywant to go into the Casio app and see if there are any settings for Hebrew or for any other languages for your gbd-h2000. The Casio app would be the only pace where you can find out if it's compatible with any other languages.

thanks, will try that

unfortunately no support for Hebrew or ither languages other than English...
It's not supporting even Japanese.
There are more options on Garmin, but on instinct there are no middle eastern or eastern options either.

Saying more options is bit confusing since Casio has 0 options.
Fenix 7 seem to have more supported languages and i assume 8 has even more.

This a great thread to read what people thought about the watch two years ago. $599 MSRP? 👀 Now you can get the Casio G-Shock GDB-H2000 for $269 to $399 and the only reason the Casio G-Shock GDB-H1000 costs more after four years it is discontinued. I saw the GBD-H1000 and the reason why I liked it was it was USB, solar, and ABC. I use the barometer the most. The GPS antenna is in the GBD-H1000 bezel and the GBD-H2000 GPS antenna is not. So one hit could destroy the GPS antenna. The GDB-H2000 is a better watch.

Why does the GPS time adjustment not work indoors, but ACTIVITY with GPS works almost most of the time indoors. It will even set the HOME TIME to GPS.
Think about GPS... indoors....
Do you see satellites indoors?
Do you see GPS recording distance indoors?

Brave captain had to get outside in order to get GPS signal.

Jokes aside. There is no GPS signal indoors and associated metrics. Rest of the things related to fitness tracking not related to GPS will work fine. HR sensor, accelerometer work fine...
Indoors, out doors and on the doors...

When you use the GPS for any ACTIVITY it will also set the HOME TIME to GPS TIME when you go back to the HOME SCREEN. As I said sometimes the GPS will work indoors, but when you manually set the GPS TIME ADJUSTMENT it won't work indoors. Try it sometimes. You will know it worked if you go to SETTINGS, then go to WATCH SETTINGS, and then look at HOME TIME and you will see UTC +/-.

And yes, when I'm outside I might use the GPS TIME ADJUSTMENT, but I mainly use the GPS OTHER ACTIVITY. But I also don't go out my way to stand outside waiting for my GPS to get the GPS TIME
