Well, what do you expect. Big value for the money ? It is just a fashion watch with a cheapo quartz movement. Will please you for some years. That's it. You get what you paid for.

 

Both Guess and Guess Collection watches are made by Timex. I would say they are similar to thier Nautica brand. This watch seems like a good deal for price if you like it. (Most places, even the heavy discounters have it for $300ish in a quick search) Nautica also makes some 'Swiss Made' watches and the quality is very good (for the price). Seems the Guess watches have a 10 Year warrantee as well.....

I just went to watch store about an hour ago and I saw guess watch with model# 85553G2. I was curious when I look at the caseback because just below the triangular guess? logo there was written: japan mov't...
It was strange because the built of that watch was really good and just looked like the real one (I judged the one I saw as 'not the real one'.. :think.
My question: is it a genuine guess watch?? Where the Timex movement (that you said is being used for guess watches) is made??

I think its a fine looking watch, and will serve you well...especially at that price. As above I would also presume it contains a Ronda which is a pretty reliable movement manufacturer.

 

The price you are quoting should actually be the retail and then the markdown should be from there.

It's your cash but you can do better for the same or just a little more.

 

my buddies brother works for guess in switzerland and bought home watches for his family as presents and some for friends, he got them at cost price or staff price i think but any way they look and are built according to their price range they dont feel right when you hold them and the bracelets feel very weak and flimsy personally i wouldnt get them but then again i think they all look horrible

 

just remember i was asked if i wated my friends bro to get a gc watch i declined and also i was sent a pdf with pics and prices so here is one example in macys in ny this watch will cost 600us dollars 400 euro Guess Collection Men's Sport Class Chronograph XL and sorry for change of font but its 3 13 am and im about to goto bed but anyway i was offered this watch at 115 swiss francs which is 103 dollars 76 euro and that is legitimet 100% real not fake my buddies bro works in sales dept for guess and obviously can get them at cost but they are still horrible looking things and not even worth the 100 bucks imho, bty thats a hell of a markup. in the pdf there are 44 different models with their name and price a brief discription of the watch a long string of numbers and a date of unknown meaning/purpose. gc watches are cheap wrist bling and thats that.. im off to bed good night.

I ever saw guess spiderweb (model #10152G1) which has black leather strap (which is ought to be brown) and silver plated case (which is ought to be gold). The built of that watch is very nice though and looks identically like the version on the official catalog except for the color of it's strap and case. Is it a fake watch?? Since I've never seen such version of that model in guess catalog before.

The catalog might not have every single available combination in it. I dont think fake guess watches are something to worry about. If it "looks" real it probably is.

I just need to leave my opinion on my Guess watch on here. Bought one for around 150$, looks real nice but thats it. It fell one time from not such a high level and the minute hand was fallen off. Ofcourse you shouldn't let a watch fall anyway but i wasnt impressed by the quality.

Had it repaired, took some weeks, but it was guaranty and didn't need to pay for it (ofcourse i didn't tell it fell).

Furthermore on the back case it sais Japan MOV'T which i believe is some part of Timex (?).

The paint quality is just crap, it wears of very fast.

 

Djootiek, Those are the cheap guess watches. The swiss made ones are better. And they don't just say swiss movement, they said SWISS MADE.

I bought a GC Swiss Made on another forum's sales corner. It was in mint condition for $100 shipped. It is a very sharp watch with nice detail, heft, and does not come off as cheap at all. I was pleasantly surprised. Looks even better in person IMO.

I picked my GC watch up a while back at TJ Maxx and I like the styles of thei watches and mine seems to be of very nice quality wear it well their nice watches

 

I received a GC Black B-1 by Guess a while back. The hands on it are so thin that you can't tell what time it is. The hands are silver and blend in with the black faced background. They should have painted the hands white or something. I can't recommend this watch to anyone because of that. It looks nice and keeps good time, but you can't read it.
